I agree. This is heartbreaking especially after watching Herd Elephant Sanctuary in Africa where these Ellie’s have freedom. You get to see their communications with each other and the care and safety of their group.

I had to stop watching this video. I felt sorry for the elephants not living in their natural habitat and among other wild animals.

I’m not against elephants in care earning their way .
free from poachers and snare traps and endangering things.
They are probably spoiled rotten never having to worry about drought and other things in the wild that they actually do Suffer from in the wild. In care they get medical attention in the wild they die from injuries.
Captivity may be a last resort if the numbers continue to plummet . Nothing wrong with a place using them to help pay for the cost of their own care I don’t see that as exploitation. I see a win win 🏆.
In India wild elephants get burned alive for raiding crops and invading small time farmers fields. I’ve seen them electrocuted from farmers using power lines to build electric fences. This circus 🎪 scenario is not so bad .

I am not a vegan or vegetarian, I am not an animal activist, I am human and would like to think that any animal is not beaten into submission (the "crush) or prodded with sharp sticks before they are killed for my plate. This is what these elephants go through to "train" them to comply with their "keepers", all over Asia. Such a shame that people still go to see these "shows".

The amount of abuse and training it takes for any animal to do things like this is uncanny. And the fact that the handler is holding a stick ready to hit them right in front of everyone is just sad. These kind of humans are disgusting.
