Lovely compilation, Pam. I had started this on my phone without turning the sound up and was humming the T&V music before I canceled my Do Not Disturb! What's the very last piece, the one in B&W? And I swear there's a silent clip of his T&V floating around YT where he does the double tours combination with one leg in retire, which I understand is the way Mr B choreographed it, but a harder version so you rarely see it. Can I ask if you have the DVD of that T&V performance? YT seems only to have a 2nd or 3rd generation copy of the VHS tape, and the image you posted is extremely clear.
It's The Tale of the Serf Nikishka" and it's stunning. Here is a link to what I have uploaded previously. I have more to it that I have not uploaded but will try to do so soon. I do not have it on DVD. I ran across my copy on a Japanese site one night a long time ago. I don't mind sharing at all. =) ua-cam.com/video/FpSPV6ZcMYA/v-deo.html

Yes, I live east of Houston, so howdy sweet pal o' mine =) I find a lot of my footage on a website bilibili.com I found the T&V clip I used... it is 720p. I hope the link lets you access that version. You'll need to use a browser with a translator. I found much of the DonQ footage there all in one video. It had clips organized by year starting in 1967 through to later years. Really good but much of it was such poor quality I didn't use it. Where do you find this music? Montage just transcendent for both Misha's dancing and the accompaniment. Since you used Le Jeune Homme..., let me say the music sounds like it could be inserted so it either has a happy ending or so the jeune homme finds himself dancing a lovely adagio with some angels trained in Balanchine technique.😇
I just did a search for Latvian folk songs or national songs. I wanted to do something different musically so I focused on his heritage. I was thrilled to find such a beautiful, haunting song. It's just gorgeous. Glad you like it and I do agree with you. I hadn't realized but you are right, it does remind one of Jeune Homme. I've always hated the end of that ballet and wished it weren't so tragic. I love your ideas for a new ending =D
