  • We are using a simple, entry level espresso maker (Farberware Espresso Machine $65) as a single serve coffee option.
This machine is cheaper than a keurig or other single serve coffee option and 10 times better! I can make single serve coffee, or latte, Espresso, flat white, macchiato, cappuccino, whatever I want! but I can also use it to make hot water quickly for hot chocolate, tea and more!
change the world one sip at a time!

Thanks for the video. I never thought to use the wand to create an Americano. I wouldn't do this for myself, but my stepson would like it since he prefers his coffee black.
I've had mine for about a year and I really like it. The one thing that has perplexed me from day 1 is not knowing what causes the light to sometimes blink fast. When it does, I can't make coffee until it's cleared. And...the only way I've found to clear it is to press the button again. I do this after removing the prepped portafilter because it won't make the expresso correctly otherwise, i.e., wrong amount of coffee made and/or no crema. Sometimes it takes me doing this twice.
The only other thing I wish were better is the temp of the coffee. It never makes hot coffee...only very warm.
Lastly, this is my first ever expresso machine. While it makes beautiful coffee and creamy milk, I can't get the consistency to allow me to create a design. The milk won't spread out either because the milk is too thick (although I like it thick) or the crema is. No biggie. If it did, then I'd find I suck at coffee art!

So this machine is definitely cheap... i still have it and actually just finished yet another Americano from it. The lights will start blinking when it senses that the water is too hot for the machine. When it blinks like that, you can push a button and it'll make it incorrectly, or you can wait until they stop blinking and then push the button again. That being said, your point is spot on, even when it's "overheated" and immediatley makes a cup when it's no longer overheated, it's not "hot", but i find it very drinkable as soon as it's done.
For getting your milk to really spread, it definitely takes a lot of practice, but at the same time, i dont think the steam is really powerful enough to pull the milk the way it's supposed to. Once again, this is just a simple and cheap machine. But i really appreciate the comment! Thanks for viewing!
Also, for what it's worth, i totally suck at coffee art as well. But i can't roast some awesome coffee beans!

I purchased the same machine about 2 weeks ago and really like it but I have a few questions regarding the maker. First of all, I was getting great espresso with a lot of crema but then I started getting less crema. More like how I see yours. But my main concern is that when the coffee is finished there is a lot of water left in the portafilter when I remove it. I am wondering what grind you use? I use #3 fine. Also on page 13 at the bottom it says to remove the frother cover before you use it. Also have you seen the other Faberware that has the pressure guide in front? That one costs around $89.00 which I was wondering about. Maybe you could do a comparison on the two?

Hey Thanks for the view! When making espresso on this machine i'm grinding using my Mahlkonig Guatemala grinder and i use a 3 setting. The pump in this espresso machine can handle a lot of back pressure so having a very fine grind doesn't seem to effect it much. When the coffee is roasted and ground both make a huge difference in your espresso. You want to use a fresh roasted coffee bean thats ground directly prior to pulling your shot for the best and most consistent results. I'm not really a product reviewer but a coffee roaster though. As a result, this video is more to showcase just how good of espresso you can make using our bagged, espresso ground roasted to order coffee!

The wet puck is expected as that filter is a double wall pressure one. Crema with these are hit or miss depending on the grounds and the farberware with the gauge is discontinued but if you want a true espresso experience get a bottomless portafilter the one it comes with is a cheapo flimsy that isn't worth the effort

I opted out of faberware and bought me a Giaggo Super for $500. I Love it and would never give it up! If you like good espresso then spend the extra money and you won't be disappointed at all.@@unocarb

This espresso machine is made in China. Don't get me wrong it's a good machine. The manufacturer is producing this machine under different brand names. My one is called a DSP Professional. It came with 2 filter baskets. One for a single and one for a double shot espresso. Both baskets are double walled, meaning the are pressured baskets. My machine produces 15 bar of pressure. I use 8grams of ground coffee for a single shot and 16 for a double. The grind is rather course, same as pre-ground coffee. If I use the double shot basket with 8grams of coffee there is also water on top of the puck, but not with the single shot basket. Since I prefer my coffee like a cafe crema I use the single basket with 8grams of coffee and push the button for the double shot and then once more to obtain the amount of water required for the cafe crema.
