Art Basel 2024 | Parcours

Art Basel Parcours takes center stage for a week, from June 10-16, 2024, under the vision of guest curator Stefanie Hessler, Director of Swiss Institute New York. It showcases sculptures, installations, and performances by renowned artists throughout Basel’s public spaces and landmarks.
For over a decade, Parcours utilized different places in Basel’s historic city center such as Basel Minster and Kunstmuseum Basel at Marketplatz. While the 2024 edition’s location at Claraplatz offers convenient access for visitors, it sadly does not replicate the unique experience of exploring art alongside the city’s rich history.
Extending the duration of Parcours could enhance accessibility for a broader audience. It is also worth noting that concerns about glare affecting the viewing experience of glass-protected artworks, as observed in my video, should be considered for future presentations.
