while brunei dollar is legal tender in singapore, many of the youngsters are not aware so some brunei tourist still have issues using the brunei dollar in singapore, especially if the cashier is young or not local. most of the older generation people are aware of it and will gladly accept it. in brunei however, it is very easy to use singapore dollar.
@@RonLarhz maybe some of the parents themselves are not aware of it themselves. Brunei dollar being legal tender is no longer common knowledge like in the 80s and 90s.
@@antant9523 In the mid 2010s there was a commemorative special notes being released. So it didn't really disappear in our sphere. It's the same thing with singlish. Youngsters cant even explain singlish and think it's just hokkien vulgarities. The identity/history is gone....
I think plenty of Singaporeans are aware, the issue is being aware doesn't equate recognizing the currency as usable, especially coins. No one wants to be the one taking in some unfamiliar looking tender on a busy day only to realized it's not even from Brunei, or you made the wrong change. And that's putting aside the store that uses auto cash registers that only take Sing Dollars. I once end up with some coin that I still didn't know where it's from, but it look liked a 10 cent so I never bother finding out.
They are actually supertrees, the area named Supertree Grove. 😊 The main tree actually collects rain water that is used to water the surrounding plants.
Assalamualaikum brother, didn't know you're Muslim. Hope you visit more of Singapore next time. Singaporean here, hope you enjoy my cousins' country. Which I know you will! Stay safe and God bless you!
as a Singaporean, I'm surprised by the rule of the Taoist temple forbidding non-vegetarian... not sure if that kind of rule is allowed in Singapore... I bet there'll be other Singaporeans asking about it too.. why not just say private property, no entry..?
Actually, it depends. From the looks of it. It may have been a special day for a particular deity or deities that requires some special observants. Meaning you just have to be vegetarian for that day etc... You can see the tables of offerings with bright yellow table cloths in the inner courtyard from outside, that doesn't happen everyday. It's not 'close to public' so much as doing something that only some very particular devotees knows or care to attend. It's a sign they only take out on that day, or days. The sign also likely just a translation of the phrase '斋戒沐浴'. I have been to that temple, I don't think that sign was there before.
😂 Or you could just include your Brunei dollar and combine with your Singapore dollars. 1 dollar is difficult to buy anything nowadays. High Inflation! 😢 Eat grass😂
Right, I just didn’t have any Singaporean dollars and was using my card, I just had 1 Brunei dollar left for my time in Brunei and wanted to see if I could spend and in the end we were successful!
You showed some spots that most UA-camrs miss!! Probably because you kinda walked around randomly, but I believe that's the best way to travel!
I guess low budget helps sometimes lol 😂
