Stage Manager

Martha Donaldson, Stage Manager, discusses her role as a conduit for the director, cast and designers; assisting the director with getting their vision on to the stage and maintaining the director's vision after she leaves the production; how putting together a production is like putting together a puzzle. We see her at work in the rehearsal room, at technical rehearsal in Central Park and on Opening Night of The Public's "The Bacchae" as the show starts.

I agree, theater outside is beautiful and better than theater inside. But I have only done 4 shows outside and 17 shows inside.

Looking back all these years, I don't know how this production went so wrong, they had everything going for them amazing actors in the cast(deshields! GROFF! mackie...), fearless director, score by Glass! risky crazed greek tragedy to go off of...
It would've been easier to swallow if it were a big swing, but it unfortunately was a just bigggg miss. without a sad putter of a swing =/
at least the Public didn't (as wrongfully as the first time was) ditch her again. Everyone is allowed to miss the mark once in awhile...
