THIS IS TRUE LOG TRUCKING SKILL AT WORK!!!! i have driven some crazy mountain roads with 80,000 lbs gross under my peddle, but you fellers are over the top!! with your loads a swayin on the curves, and accent deccent persentages,GOD OH MIGHTY YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!! thanks for posting, brings back memories, here in washington state. (daviddude58).
I remember one driver coming off of Avola Mountain, in B.C., in the very early '70s with 126,000 lbs+ of Western White Pine aboard. And his truck wasn't loaded much higher than the stakes.... He got a ticket at the Weyerhauser scales for being overloaded for the highway, and was irate about that, since it was the loaderman's fault the truck was way over...
In the 1960s, Caterpillar built 5 or 6 extra-wide off-highway logging trucks with 12 or 14' wide trailers. 3 went to MacMillan-Bloedel company operations on Vancouver Island, and 2 ended up in Clearwater, B.C. Huge trucks, but not generally usable in very many logging shows around B.C.- none that had to use standard highways, at least- so that series was cancelled. A guy I knew was the mechanic on these trucks in Clearwater. It was terrifying to meet one of these on the road, since they took up so much space....
Hey Clearcutter. BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!! Fat trucks AND FAT TUNES.... NAILED THAT SHIT!!!! I watch this at least once A week man. That big ol Hays running us over ..... SHEEEEIIIT! MORE MORE MORE
I hauled off highway redwood loads back in the day out of ten mile into Union lumber company fort Bragg calif., that dwarfed these. Thanks" It brings back a lot of memories for this old truck tramp...
The ones I worked on had 2 blownV-12s mated together and 18 speed powershift. They handle 70 ton loads. Tires are off highway and run low pressures of 30 -35psi. Brakes are water cooled. They don't make them like this any more.
This beast and driver only needs 1 wiper to deliver that heavy load in extreme condition. While recent fancy truck needs atleast 4 wiper to walk at catwalk. Absolute monster.
I really do like the old Pacific and the old hayes logging trucks from the bc and the Canadian logging companies and if i was working Jamie Davis or running my own towing recovery company i will be very happy to be using the old Pacific trucks and hayes trucks as well with the jerrdan and century towing wrecker truck bodies on them
@antonisbob I think its a Pacific Hayes...... they are made for use as a logging truck.. They where made so well...they didn't have many breakdowns. In turn that put them out of business. :-( To bad as they are very strong trucks.
what kind of truck is that....it's a friggin badass big rig whatever the hell it is!! you think you could fit a couple more logs on it?!!!!!! hahaha.......wicked!!
exactly. the last picture i saw a few years ago was of the abandoned one with the bush 'reclaiming' it. thanks for the info, wasn't sure if they were mack, hayes, or pacifics. anyone know of any pictures?
Over the years that I hunted and fished in bc i saw trucks just like this on grades you would hesitate to take the family car down.Back tires locked on the trailer ,literally sliding forward a foot and then stop. And they can go fast too. I fondly remember being passed by a logging truck around the flats between daisy lake and whisltler. I was in the last car in about a group of five or so. hangs a pass on us all .... then as he got up to the next turn he disapeared in a cloud of steam.
years ago weyerhauser had some custom made trucks hauling outta the west coast. beleive they were pacifics and the cab was under the front of the load. driver was about a foot or so from the road. anyone know about these?
I want to hear the trucks- dont mind the music though. kind of suitable! Is this renewable logging? They probably plant trees aswell? then they can harvest them later. If only they did it in Brazil-rain forest fucked- people thrown off their land.
@WesternStar4900SA Ok..My bad..Pacific and Hayes are different.. But both are big trucks that haul big wood. :-P Who said anything about Mack or Kenworthless... I work on both Mack and Kenworth... Mack is SUPERIOR. Kenworth... NOT even in the same class. Wiring nightmares....arggggg! As for the power units...well any one who know trucks ...knows you can have what ever you want, pretty much. :-)
@trapper420 Pacific and Hayes are two very different companies. Kenworth and Mack also made 'fat trucks.' Hayes and Pacific both had break downs like any other truck, they used the same engines as large on-road rigs. And they went out of buisness-yes-because they lasted too long. PAcific and Hayes also made trucks for every other purpose. Research next time.
They may replant trees here aswell, the video does not say. My house is brick, poor bricks, stuck in an oven and forced to be a house, aw poor things, think of the children etc...lol.

Is this renewable logging?
They probably plant trees aswell? then they can harvest them later.
If only they did it in Brazil-rain forest fucked- people thrown off their land.
They wont let these haul to the mill because they haul to much!
@WesternStar4900SA Ok..My bad..Pacific and Hayes are different.. But both are big trucks that haul big wood. :-P

They may replant trees here aswell, the video does not say.
My house is brick, poor bricks, stuck in an oven and forced to be a house, aw poor things, think of the children etc...lol.
Sure would of been nice to hear that old motor sing instead of that sgit music playing
