The 17th century heroes from the RijksMuseum are back. We saw what happened when Rembrandt's Night Watch suddenly emerged in an unsuspecting shopping mall somewhere in The Netherlands. Check out the making of and meet the enthusiastic Night Watch connaisseur Jeroen de Bovelaar.

The person who thought this up was a creative genius. Simply brilliant concept, brilliantly done. Kudos to everyone involved.
The man, I assume he's an art historian, was so on point. All the details he was mentioning were the soul of the performance. Superb work!
This is a truly magnificent video. A real piece of superb theatre art! Thank you to the incredible director , all the exotically costumed participants , the beautiful horses , and the little chicken. This has truly made our Christmas perfect here in cold blustery Canada
I've been fascinated by the video of the actual performance for years now, so it's nice to find the 'behind the scenes' footage. No translation needed. I especially like the rehearsal footage, and the gentleman in gold with the mug depicting the original painting.

mm volgens waren de nachtwacht toch echt amsterdammers! dit is niet in amsterdam gefilmd!!
Wat een vervelende man die er de hele tijd tussen door praat. Taalgebruik als "top, cool, hoi," en als nachtwacht-kenner zit er toch echt geen Nederlandse leeuw op maar de 3 kruisjes van de stad Amsterdam zo kom je erg amateuristisch over. Het idee is wel fantastisch.
Tja, de moderne tijd. Taalgebruik is erg simplistisch.
Zou het kunnen dat hij een typetje is? Over die 'Jeroen de Bovelaar' is namelijk niks te vinden op het Net.
Als je het schilderij ook daadwerkelijk kent weet je dat hij verwijst naar de schaduw van de hand van Banninck Cocq die valt op de jas van van Ruytenburgh. En die ziet er dus zeker niet uit als drie kruizen maar inderdaad als een leeuw.
