Jeanene Williams Vegans don't belong in the comment sections of Filipino food videos. The Philippines has struggled with food scarcity for so much of its existence that choosing to omit food would've been the difference between life and death. Eating whatever was edible is baked into the culture. It's a luxury of our current food environment that vegans can decide to omit all animal byproducts, but it's simply not a practical reality for all parts of the world, even today.
Very Ape can't you guys just enjoy the video, that has absolutely nothing to do with veganism? No reason to be unfriendly towards those who wouldn't eat what is shown in the vid.
I'm vegan. I don't care. I still watched the full video. Vegans, overall, are a lot less self-righteous than you think. The Worth It vegan video got a worse like-dislike ratio and more triggered comments from non-vegans.
That kamayan part was like every barkada's(group of friends) dream on having every outing. And in every kamayan fiest, nobody would sit pretty and eat slowly, because if you are here in the Philippines, that whole pig would only last for 7 to 10 minutes. Every kamayan fiest is a war zone.
At $60 for each person for the $715 pork dish I'd defiantly say that's the most worth it considering the amount of food that was served and the whole experience and man am I hungry now.
every filipino family has its own ADOBO recipe which makes every adobo in the Philippines different. Lechon takes more or less 4-6 hrs from preparation to the actual manual roasting depending on how big the pig is. and Longganisa (sausages) also has different varieties depending on the city you are in, it can be more on the sour or the sweet side. Filipino cuisine is such an adventure. it can take to eras and races that influenced our cuisine. #Lami (yummy) -Davao City,Philippines
I felt like crying when they didn't mix the halo-halo thoroughly before eating. You have to mix it well so you wouldn't just get ice at the end. That's why the name is halo-halo; halo means mix. Great video tho. Those restaurants mixed American techniques and ingredients already in the dishes but they still stuck close to the original recipe. It was very interesting to know.

a cup of tae with suga If my memory serves correct, the joke is about a couple, a girl from Philippines and a male foreigner. The girl's family served lechon, a most loved Filipino delicacy to the male foreigner. The thing is that the male foreigner didn't like the food. For most Filipinos, we are hospitable to other visitors specially foreigners. Therefore, it kind of hurt for the girl and her family that he didn't like it so the girl said to her boyfriend (the foreigner) that "You're road" (You're rude). I'm quite sure the girl may not be so fluent with English so she kind of messed up and her boyfriend didn't understand what she said. [Do not worry, most of us is okay if you don't like the food. We understand. 😂] Edit: Sorry for my bad English.

It's a luxury of our current food environment that vegans can decide to omit all animal byproducts, but it's simply not a practical reality for all parts of the world, even today.
Very Ape I’ll bet you’re a riot a parties
Very Ape can't you guys just enjoy the video, that has absolutely nothing to do with veganism? No reason to be unfriendly towards those who wouldn't eat what is shown in the vid.
I'm vegan. I don't care. I still watched the full video. Vegans, overall, are a lot less self-righteous than you think. The Worth It vegan video got a worse like-dislike ratio and more triggered comments from non-vegans.
MunchNCrunch1 same, I’m vegan and I didn’t really think anything of the video other than the video itself. I love these videos.
Me too
every filipino family has its own ADOBO recipe which makes every adobo in the Philippines different.

Ummm... I think they don't know that...
Ganda Gandara may halo halo ice cream ba hahaha halo halo lang din nman tawag dun
@Ganda Gandara not real halo halo but Americanised one
Ganda Gandara nah idk what those people are talking about its real halo halo w ice cream and leche flan and stuff
Ganda Gandara tinanong mo kasi kung REAL HALO-HALO OR HALO-HALO ICE CREAM ba yun kaya ang sinasabi ko kahit na may ice cream o wala yun pa rin yung REAL halo-halo
Ohoho ohoho
You guys gonna be surprised when you fly to the Philippines and see how big lechon is usually,
We cook the big bois
Major events usually have a feast that can feed a decent sized barangy
USDA doesnt let them have older pigs smh
@@restauriorestoria1332 Pigs reach a point where they aren't as efficient at turning feed into meat. That's when they get marketed in the US. I don't think it's a USDA imposed limitation.

@@cassualtea2040 wut?
@@bludshedt2647 A lot of Filipino food is centered around using every part of the animal since during colonial eras it was all most Filipinos could get, as a result, we have a lot of dishes that seem to just be throwing odds and ends together to make something good, "waste not want not"
Crazy how u can eat da same things here in da Philippines for only $1😂

They ate the Lechon, so i guess they're not road.
kookiestimbs xx i know road has something to do with filipino jokes but what does it mean???
a cup of tae with suga rude = road
I think it came from a bbc episode.
a cup of tae with suga
If my memory serves correct, the joke is about a couple, a girl from Philippines and a male foreigner.
Edit: Sorry for my bad English.

As a chilean, I'm amazed that we also have the same longaniza, with the same preparation, appearance and name in the other side of the world. Obviously the origin of the mighty longaniza it's from Spain, but I'm amazed that nothing change
Is it bad that I laughed so hard when Adam said "You got a face for radio" 😂
Mavik Singson Adam burn!
These chefs didn't get enough credit for what they gave you. Amazing. Impressive.
What? Do they require oral satisfaction LOL? I think their large pay cheques and vast recognition (especially for the last one) will suffice.

Good thing they're eating halo-halo, because that's a nasty burn right there.
Finally, with a Filipino episode. There’s just too much food to show to everyone.

The last part we do not really call it as "Kamayan" but rather we call it "Budol-Budol Fight".
Its also called kamayan dude budol fight and kamayan are both correct.
The first Budol fight i ever had was in Boy Zugba here in Mindanao. And i gotta tell you I was afraid becuase i thought it meant we would be racing to finish the food in time or smthn. But it was just casual hand eating with my family. Oh i miss going there.
That feast was the best meal of my life and I didn't even eat it

I had a lechon with my ex about 5 years ago with the local Filipino community in my town. Best pork I've ever had. The pig we had was about 4 times the size of the one you guys had but it was to feed about 30-40 people.
The size of the lechon is a good indication of the host's wealth or event's importance haha
Vegans must hate this series.
Chavy Cash actually i’m vegan and i love watching this series.. i just don’t understand how anyone in general could be able to eat something with the face still on it? Lol weird
