- The year was 2015 when BJP government was formed in the country and 100 cities were selected in the country which were to be made smart cities. The deadline for Panjim city was also set as 31st May but the work has not been completed yet. In fact, the work that has been done is also very poor. People of Goa say that the entire city was dug up without any planning, due to which there were severe traffic jams in the entire city, the air quality of a place like Goa also deteriorated due to dust flying all day. According to people, the contractor company forgets to do the digging and hence water gets filled in it, then mosquitoes start breeding in it and if it rains somewhere, these pits become very dangerous for the people because anyone can fall in them. I am taking Panjim city as a sample, because not only smart city but any such project is spent on taxpayers' money. Our money. You will get to see the story of how these politicians loot this money in this video. I live in Goa. Horrible . For ten days holiday it is ok. To live hear is just horrible. No public transport. No municipality. Not good hospitals. Even schools, colleges standard of education is very low. Middle of night if you have emergency, God save you. Why night ? Afternoon time everything closed. CM ? Everyone knows, Electricity goes atleast 20 times a day. Goa was so good, much better earlier. Now just not worth it. No law and order. No active policing.
They not only destroyed the livelihood of people with businesses in Panjim but also caused massive upheaval to people living and working there. People (except for tourists) avoided going into Panjim for 5 years. People fell from 2 wheelers, traffic was bogged down, car suspension and wheels were destroyed and petrol use increased as one tried to find undug roads or piles of rubble.😢😢😢😮😮

I would like to draw your attention towards corruptions in Goa’s panchayat. Calanghute and Candolim, are 2 such panchayats where money moves work. And this corruption is mainly for outsiders businesses. Sometimes, one feels that Goa is still a foriegn country for other Indians, who aren’t voters. Corrupt leaders are from primary level, minting money all the way. While the higher placed ministers make money which is much more for their next coming seven generation. 😢
