In Drishti IAS Current News Bulletin, we bring to you a summary of news events that happened last week. In this episode we have covered important current affairs topics like; 22nd India-Russia Summit,Ratna Bhandar Of Puri Jagannath Temple Reopens, CIC has powers to Constitute Benches, Zika virus, India’s Mission to drill a 6-km deep hole in Koyna, CITES, Rosewood Species, Air Pollution harms pollinators, SDG India Index 2023-24, World Population Prospects 2024 etc.
Recently, the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit was concluded in Moscow. This summit was hosted by the Indian Prime Minister and the Russian President. During this, the two leaders discussed many issues including strategic and economic issues. Also, they vowed to strengthen bilateral connectivity by promoting Russia-India trade and economic cooperation. Let us tell you that during the summit, both the countries have agreed to increase bilateral trade to 100 billion US dollars by 2030. Also, it has been decided to promote bilateral transaction settlement system using national currencies.
In other section, Recently, NITI Aayog has released the fourth edition of 'SDG India Index 2023-24'. This index is based on 113 indicators, which measure and track the national progress of all states and union territories. These indicators are in line with the National Indicator Framework of the Union Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation. Which calculates the overall score for each state or union territory by adding their performance in 16 SDGs. They are given a score between 0 to 100.
