I really like this album. It’s so great to listen to in the summer. Whether it be alone in my room or I go for a bike ride to see the sunset. I really love the summer vibes and sad love songs, it’s just fun feel good music. Something about the guitar is very aesthetically pleasing, I love the sound of it, I forgot what effect it’s called but it’s very clean. I love the slight echo. It really matches with the vocals. I’m sure when I’m older I’ll have nostalgic memories of listening to this song and being a care free teenager with no responsibilities. Something about this album feels like it could be a soundtrack to a cheesy indie coming of age movie, and that movie, is well, my life. So yeah, a great album overall, some songs feel a bit goofy/half baked.
Unfortunately, a member of the band Shane, has been accused from several people for being a perv/ predator. So it pains me to listen to this knowing he’s not a good person. In fact an awful one, using his fame for wrong. This ain’t the first time this has happened, a lot of famous people love the power they get over their (young) fans. Especially pretty girls. A very tragic and bitter end to a lot of talented people making great music. Oh well.
I guess you have to separate the art from the artist.
This album is really comforting, it kinda feels like I’m floating in space but also water? I know that sounds weird but like imagine space covered in water and your floating in it. Or if space was covered in blue jelly and you’re kinda just sinking away in it.
No I’m not high, although if I was then this would be an awesome experience.
I don’t know why I decided to write this god damn essay, but I did and I’m bored. I don’t know anyone that also likes Banes world so I’m kind of hoping someone here would respond and feel the same way. If I’m being honest Drowsy also makes me feel a bit less lonely, and sort of comfortable within my loneliness. I’ve never been in love, but this is probably what it feels like.

wow, I really liked your analogy with the jelly-water-space thing. I get what you mean haha and fully agree. Seeing your perspective on the album and Shane was quite interesting, especially "separating the art from the artist." Just curious, how did you discover Banes World?
@@ngozi8704 I discovered banes world most likely through the luck of the algorithm. I think it would’ve been on UA-cam a few years back, I thought the song was cool but never listened to it much. Until very recently, I must’ve been listening to Spotify and remembered bane’s worlds most popular song, “you say I’m in love” and I decided to listen to any other songs since that songs pretty great. The album, while short has definitely helped me feel the sort of cliche summer of a coming of age movie. I want to be the main character sometimes, lol. How’d you find about it?
I feel you dude. I discovered this album last year through an apple music algorithm and it just vibed with me on so many levels. The mix of upbeat and summer sounds with the sadness behind the songs is just so strangely comforting.

Sometimes when the stars align, and the sky turns into a pretty pink and purple, or when the light hits the face of a pretty girl just right, I feel as if there still is a chance for me to have a life that is comparable to that of a teenager in an indie drama/romance. Sure, I might not have a girlfriend or a Trans am, or an insanely huge mansion or really anything those characters have. I do however have one thing in common with them, feelings and memories. When we create these cool, new, novel experiences, I truly do feel like the main character.
I think the main reason as to why Bane’s world’s music appeals to me so much is because of the way it makes me feel like the main character of my own cheesy coming of age movie. It makes me feel like it’s the soundtrack complimenting my life. It also comforts me knowing that there are still so many new and interesting things for me to experience, I start to feel like my life has only begun, because, well, it really has. I still have so much time ahead of me, so many new things to do, so many new people to meet.
My new years resolution was to watch the sunset every day, or whenever I can. Even if its as simple as looking through my window or stepping outside into my backyard. Ive been doing it, and the other night I went out on a whim, and spontaneously rode my bike to a great viewing point to watch the sunset, but I was so nervous to go, because I was by myself. I almost managed to convince myself not to go. “What if everyone sees me alone? Will they think I’m weird?”
But as one of my favourite songs “eyes without a face” by Billy idol started to play, and I descended the hill with a viw of the sunset and the city and all the nice trees, while I felt the cool breeze brush on me, I felt happy and satisfied, I couldn’t stop smiling. I thought, “this is why im alive”. It’s currently summer where I live, and I felt like the main character of a stupid cheesy coming of age movie, especially while listening to my favourite music as if it were the soundtrack to my movie, like Banes world and Masayoshi Takanaka.
It was great, I realized that even though I was alone, it wasn’t at all embarrassing or weird or painful. It was calming, it really gave me the time to think about my life. But I still feel lonely, especially romantically. I have friends, but sometimes, during the holidays I cant help but feel as if im missing out on all these cool experiences with my friends and that im not doing enough with my life. But the thing is, I actually do things with my life, yet I feel like its not enough. I really did just write an essay, didn’t I? Oh well. Your life is great and is memorable, you deserve to feel like the main character of a movie.

Pra min, esse álbum é único (lógico que é, mas vocês entenderam o que quis dizer), cada música é muito curta, mas muito memorável e tem sua própria vibe, é realmente um trabalho incrível. Gostaria de saber exatamente que estilo musical é esse, eu sei que é Indie, mas dentro do Indie tem de tudo, gostaria de saber exatamente o que o Banes world faz, é tão diferente, esses vocais, a sonoridade dos instrumentos meio distorcida. Enfim, me passa uma boa sensação, e me faz pensar numa outra realidade, onde não tenho que trabalhar, somente curtir momentos com a pessoa amada, talvez olhando alguma paisagem, meio que no fim do dia, com o sol se pondo kk..
Opa! Mais um brasileiro que aprecia a arte de Banes World rsrs. Para mim este é um dos albuns mais únicos que existe e também um dos meus favoritos (e não é atoa que este foi o album que inspirou milhares de artistas indies posteriormente). É realmente triste o que tenha ocorrido com ele, pois foi ele quem me inspirou a aprender a tocar instrumentos e eu continuo a adorar suas músicas, mas não o artista. (aprender a separar a arte do artista. Assim como alguns dizem)
Bom, em relação a sua pergunta sobre o estilo musical não tem uma forma muito exata de dizer isso pois suas melodias são bem únicas xD, mas os estilos musicais que mais se encaixa são:

I like it but i feel like a lot of people are making “vibe” music. Like if this was an acoustic set a lot of songs would sound monotonous. Cool vibes but id like to see people work on the craft of melody making. It seems like that is what sticks and remains timeless whether it be Cole Porter or The Beatles or Billie Eilish. They all have a knack for melody. Just typing out loud cus im board. I like this as Thom Yorke puts it as “refrigerator buzz” since its more something that stands out as something you put as background music. Maybe i have to listen a couple more times.
Keep in mind this album started most of the indie vibe music when it dropped in 2016
