The thing about uplifting your mood, is that there always needs to be a negative side to each positive reaction. When you feel "happy" it is chemicals being released, and then other chemicals are released to balance you out and make you feel normal again. These chemicals last twice as long, making you feel the opposite, or "sad" after you feel happy. The same goes for sad songs, etc. That positive thinking soon turns to negative thoughts.
