Hello! I'm Holly, also known as Chao of Chao Illustrations. (♡°ω°♡) I am an Illustrator based in the North of the UK, and I specialise in Kawaii and colourful Monster girls and Fantasy character Illustrations! I became a full time Artist in January 2020, and now stream Art 4 days a week on Twitch as a Verified Twitch Partner.♥

So insightful! - I'm trying to get into doing conventions more often than once in a blue moon to boost my confidence. Megacon Live Birmingham 2024 is one I've just applied for, I've only ever done 1 con before - Em-Con Worcester in 2019 so watching some these videos gives me a good idea of kind of what to expect as well as ideas for my own set up! Will definitely be watching the prep for this once a con place is confirmed so I can get back in the planning mindset! ☺

May i ask where you applied?? I checked the website but i dont see anywhere for artist alley. Please helpp id really appreciate it T-T
@@caramelon different events, call it different things I believe in this one they call it ‘creator/comic village’. A lot of events are on a first come first serve basis and require applications really far in advance. I applied on the website, it’s under the exhibitors and industry tab, and you just follow the links for the correct event that you need. It will lead you to a form. Hope this helps!

Please tell me, is this needed for a small artist with a small following? I might need to wait for next year then if its the case😓
@@caramelon as far as I’m aware anyone to fill out, I assume the company would be the brand name you intend to sell under , the website i’d assume is your website. Definitely not the best person to ask on this since I’m in a similar boat trying to apply to different local events. My only experience is one event in 2019, and the landscape is very different so it’s like I’m coming into it new this year as well. I wish you the best of luck

Oh my god, the velcro hack for the prices is SO SMART!!! Definitely stealing that idea, I always have to use tape and that doesn't last long long. Glad to see this vlog! I submitted for MCM October, hopefully I'll get in and have my first table at an UK con :D

I had an idea if you can make mannequin heads in the style of your angel/demon character. It would complete the stall aesthetics. Or be able to 3d scan your face and edit it to look like the character 3d printed.
