Eating Greek Food in Sydney at GYRADIKO

- Welcome to another food review, today we're having Gyrodiko at Bexley. This is a well known spot for greek cuisines however, it seems to have changed quite a bit since new management took over. I use to go here many years ago, and the prices were very reasonable at the time (first owner). This is an honest review of Gyrodiko, talking about the quality of food and the price gauge as of late with the new management. For me as I continue making these reviews, I want to bring honesty to the videos and not just talk about the quality of the food, but the pricing, where it's situated and more in depth in the future such as parking, location etc.
I'm evolving and always keen to hear positive feedback on how I can improve. Also let me know where you guys want me to review next, always keen on some new spots!

Completely agree bro, $24 is too much. Thanks for letting me know, I won't be coming back. I do remember it being under 20 as well. Probably worth about $15

I've been to this place heaps of times and you're spot on about the food, it's heaps good. Businesses are really struggling with expenses especially renting in Sydney so I'd like to think they are being honest about price increases. Happy to pay extra if it means they don't shut down.
Fair fair. For me the biggest gripe was the sudden incremental increases within a couple months. I agree food is great. New management need to work out their pricing structure and maintain quality.

My favourite kebab shop is now charging $36 for a 2 skewer shish meal here in Melbourne, no drink. 🤨
That's crazy brother. Hard to justify no matter how good that skewer is. That's pretty much all eats buffet for around that here! And food is amazing and unlimited. (Only pay for drinks)
How much did it use to be?
Corinthian Rotisserie in Marrickville is the best Greek restaurant. Takeaway roast lamb, roast pork, beef stew... served with veggies and home-baked bread is about AUD$16 (as of July 2024). Albo (Australian PM) is a regular. An outdoor eating area is around the corner - next to Domino's. It's about 10 minutes walk from Marrickville train station and only about 5 stops from Sydney Central Station.
Bexley is really far from Sydney CBD. This place looks far from the train station. Not worth the effort based on quality and price.

Yeah this one in Bexley, you'd definitely need a car and with the price surge it is hard to recommend.
Yeeros Shop Marrickville.. yeeros plate just as expensive.. add tzatziki and pay extra $2...comes to $28..prces are up everywhere.. yeeros plate get nice Greek salad instead of a mountain of chips

@@Addrian. $16 for a lamb yeeros is still good value...it's surely fills you up...a viet pork roll costs $11.. way more protein in a lamb yeeros 💪

$24 is up there but unfortunately those are the prices these days. At least the food looked home made style which does make up for it.
@@GiuseppeBasile yeah that is true. Food was great though. I feel the portion of meat could've been a little more. But overall was nice.
I think the spike in prices so rapidly is what caught me off guard.
