- Element X is the fastest Matrix experience ever, retaining data ownership, end-to-end encryption and native interoperability.
The magic of sliding sync means users get instant login, instant sync and instant launch - no matter how many rooms you’re in, or how large those rooms are.
Built on Matrix 2.0, matrix-rust-sdk and Vodozemac (our new audited E2EE implementation).
Incredible usability and performance, enabling encrypted messages, voice and video.
Accessible by design, using Compound, our new design system.

Genuinely hope for this to be the polished future to compete against Discord and it's disgusting user-unfriendliness and paywalls. Please optimize the PC Layout of this app as well
All we really need now is easy uploadable emote support or custom sticker support
SCREEN SHARING PLEASE. that is the last thing this needs to be the ONLY app to use for communication
I use this with my team. My one critique is “timeliness” as it relates to the notifications.
The notifications aren’t really adjustable via the app or in the phone settings like other apps. The chirp is quiet and non adjustable or changeable. My team takes a long time to answer anything because they don’t know they were being communicated to.
Let me know if there’s any way I can give more insight.
Flip side…Pros of the app for me are:
Separating rooms by focus
Data sharing
Access is adjustable by user
When will it be available on F-Droid???

Works amazing on linux
I want Element X on my desktop :D
Well done! 💪
Go element!
How to use element x
I install it ...but didnt excess it...
Can anyone tell me how to use it
What is the maximum number of members in a room in Element?
This is amazing!
I downloaded the app, tried logging in with my ems settings but got an error message (couldn't reach home server -ems instead default matrix). Sent support an email to see if they could help but never heard anything back from them unfortunately. Just wish I could try the new version along with all my integrations e.g. telegram/ signal etc
Just out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed the removal of Signal integrations in the normal element app? My WhatsApp and Telegram integration details are all there and working, but the Signal ones have completely disappeared now.
Does this have Zulip style threads?
feels like a step backwards, most of the android comments are missing features from element, and 6mo later still not fixed... i'd stay away and just stick to the regular app until this comes out of alpha(which is what this product feels like)
I can’t get the Element X to download. 2:11 2:12
How to setup back-end server for this?
Marketing before the video and voice has not even landed 😅

How does it compare to Signal?
Matrix offers decentralised messaging with end-to-end encryption. Compared to Signal, you don't have to disclose any identifying information such as a phone number, and you get to choose which server your account is associated with, or run your own. As for the Element X app, it's pretty much at feature parity with something like Signal or WhatsApp, except for the lack of tangentially related features such as "stories".
@@JivanPalbut to register you need to provide an email
@@unholiest the email is mostly for account recovery; if you're fine with relinquishing that, or using other channels for recovery, you can create accounts without disclosing your email (this depends on the homeserver you're signing up on)
@@unholiestno but the server you choose can decide that he wants your Mail
you can also just run your own server. Like I do myself.
Did government can access our data
Matrix is decentralized. And also the messages are encrypted.
If only I could disable that annoying cross-verification thing...
Why would you want to do that?
Cos I don't need to verify my phone, an hour after using my PC. I switch between 3 devices on a regular basis and each time it wants to know whether it's a legit swap.
Other platforms (like google) register the device with a one-time verification and you're set long-term.
@@mancampovestiminvatam You need to verify if you want to be able to read past encrypted messages and want your contacts to trust your new session's encryption keys.
The Signal protocol (which WhatsApp also uses) gets around this by putting the onus on you, the user, to keep your past messages stored safely. As such, when you switch devices, you have to restore past messages from a backup or start fresh. If you want to use Matrix in the same way, rather than retrieving encrypted copies of your past messages and then decrypting them after verifying, you can indeed do that.
You should not be being prompted to verify every time you go from using your phone to send a message, then your laptop, then your phone again; Matrix verification _is_ one-time verification, on a per-session basis. By "session", we mean one instance of you logging into a client. You must be logging out each time; don't do that.
I have seven sessions across two devices and am never asked to re-verify: Element Android, Element X Android, Fluffychat Android, Element Desktop, Element Web, Cinny Desktop, Synapse Admin.
And you willfully chose not to implement the threaded/tree-like comments, but the abomination that is the slack approach. (TMK and understanding.)
Здравствуйте! А Русском языке поддержка будет? Заранее благодарю.
Уже есть
but when groups are bigger it's so slow even in the hq element group space ! 🥲
