I remember when the Super Shotgun was nerfed in 2022 and that made my quit the game permanently, I don't regret that decision from learning from the comments that the company nerfed the gun again.
This game receives so much hate. It's a beautiful game, when one can play with friends its always funny. I just don't get it. I dislike Counter strike for the same reason people cry about this one and for that reason I don't play it, make no sense to me do things I don't like it just to complain about it.
SSG is so fucked. Like he says "no wonder this game is dead". All the constant changes every month or season without actually improving the game. I still like to watch the pro matches and I hope for a great quakecon... but we'll see what happens with QC.

As an id Software employee (who shall remain nameless) told me at QuakeCon one year -- the engine has a little bit of that 'Russian jank' in it. Several weeks later my young son (he must have been 4 at the time?) is sitting with me watching me play a game of Quake and something like this happened. WIthout missing a beat he says "I guess it has a little bit of that Russian jank daddy". I didn't even know he was really listening to our conversation at QuakeCon, and he used it perfectly in a sentence.
The shotgun is fine as it is, still does as much damage as it did before at the actual range it is supposed to (less than 3 meters). I think they should removed the damage falloff as it's a weird game mechanic for a Quake game and simply tweak the spread (increase it). ua-cam.com/video/IwWMDeQZv58/v-deo.html in this situation he completely missed the shot (watch at .25 speed), and they are both on 40-50 ping, add to that the fact that he seems to have an unstable routing to the server (some items pickups sounds are massively delayed or even absent). Shotgun is now awful even at close range. That current shotgun is complete horseshit. you are more efficient with the starting mg. And thats not even a joke ....
and absolutely NO. it does FAR FAR less damage now on close range as well. Sib had a sorlag almost kissing him and the stupid ssg did 72 dmg - on a heavy champion. You have to imagine that shit...

i really like the qc approach of having 3 50 armor pickups on some maps. we've really come a long way from every map having to favor the pacman style.

He often challenges himself not to use abilities. This is one of those games where he plays without abilities.
SG was so OP, you could use it as only weapon and wait your opponents around the corner. It's not perfect now but closer to what it was before.
