You hit the nail on the head with how this show makes you really think about the things we take for granted and how much trial and error/research we as a species did to advance to where we are, like we are at the point where we can take that electricity and use it to generate words that can (for better or worse) hold a conversation with us.
Of course, the luxuries like electricity and plumbing would be difficult to lose, but the food and drink. The availability of spices. I'm with Gen, if you're able to resurrect even a fraction of the old society, somthing we take so for granted today like a bottle of Cola, something thought lost forever to history, only to be forever remembered fondly...You win. You get everyone's loyalty. Sure, undoing the petrification frees their bodies and minds again, and there's certainly an attraction to a simple system like "might makes right," but Senku is captivating souls with the lost wonders of modernity.
yeah tsukasa is very short sighted as the type of people hes resurrecting are the exact kind of people to hold on to power and become the adults he hates so much

The light bulb scene gives me chills but the scene in "Clear world" episode brings me tears like wtf??? 😭 Creating ordinary stuff from scratch can give us big emotional impact cuz we never realized how dumb we are actually if those things didn't exist 😭😭
I think this shows succeeds so much in making you appreciate how far humanity has come and everything that helps us in our daily lives that we take for granted
I know cola seems like a silly reward, but look at it from Gen's perspective. He just woke up to a world entirely removed from what he knew. Wouldnt you want a small slice of comfort food?

The funny thing is that a population as small as Tsukasa's army, without science, will die out at the first contagious disease without science itself A village at least has the advantage of generational change to adapt to current conditions, while those who are out of stone have none of that

This is one show I've got to finish completed season 1 when it was out and it definitely sets it self apart from anything else I've watched. Shall definitely enjoy the second later today unless there's a third season now..
SEASON-3 ended back in February this year. Dub was also on Toonami on cable TV. Whichever format you use should have it available. However, there is an OVA, "Dr.Stone: Ryusui" that takes place between season-2 and merges with the start of season-3.
Technology is getting better and better but human mentality become more and more stupid and some elites of countries want a 3rd world war...... Anyway I love this anime so much and I hope you loved the end of S1
...I watch both & found out that sub will show that the characters INTENTIONALLY SPEAK IN ENGLISH sometimes (season-2: Ukyo, Gen & Senku on the phone)...that scene LOSES something in the dub, the change it to "(UKYO) is speaking softly so the others can't hear". The SUB says "Ukyo is speaking in English...".

There is ONLY ONE irredeemably BAD, as in EVIL, character in this entire series...thankfully, we're not there yet until season-3.
