Erich Avinger Performs at Dan Electro's Guitar Bar in Houston - 10:5:2013

We're at Dan Electro's Guitar Bar in Houston for the Ali Lowitzer / Texas Equusearch Benefit. There's been a lot of good bands today, but we really wanted to see Erich Avinger. Erich has made quite a name for himself as a solo performer and guitar skills are highly talked about. Years as a session musician able to work in virtually any style with ease seems to have endowed Avinger with a sort of cumulative wisdom; as every influence, style and nuance seems to have flowed into him as knowledge and back out as music. Erich takes his band on more of a free-form jam here, so sit back and enjoy yourself. (10/5/2013)

So his free form opening is sort of disappointing it's clear his tempo is kind of all over the place like his ideas are not clear enough in his head to come out in tempo when the band kicks in he has to play in tempo of course-- watch Oz Noy play on his own-- you'll see what I mean, his time is rock solid---

Yeah, you're right. The sound was out on the stage. You can't really hear Andrew or Derrick on the video either. Bad news. Gig from hell. I tried to get this thing removed, but they left it up anyway. Is there no justice? One lousy gig and you are on the public internet forever. My apologies for assaulting your ears.
