@doggy woof That is incorrect. Tonkatsu is not traditionally filled with ham and cheese. Tonkatsu is basically "Wiener Schnitzel". I am pretty sure the japanese didn't put ham and cheese into their cutlets before people in europe did.

They break them to size and they act like toothpicks but you can eat it after they’re fried. Don’t have to worry about toothpicks I your dish. Also not everyone has toothpicks at home, most people have spaghetti in their home.

But with things like pork cutlets it works perfectly, you can leave them in for 8 minutes a side and the coating doesn't burn.
