@@TheLawnWhispererbetter than what I could draw 😂 where did guy get the straw blankets from though? I think I’m gunna need those next year for another seeding project.
I put straw blankets down on my yard in the spring and feel like they suffocated some parts of lawn, other parts I used peet moss and the grass grew much better. I had to pull some areas up where the blankets were preventing growth. Personally I’m going to try and avoid the blankets in the future.
To each their own I guess. I plan to use them for larger bare dirt seeding going forward. Not sure how they would suffocate new grass seed so I’d be interested in learning more. I pulled mine up after about 3 weeks from seeding
Would you recommend any changes to seeds or amendments if planting on a very sandy soil base. I plan on putting down several inches of top soil before seeding. Thanks.
@TheLawnWhisperer I need help! I am on my second try of attempting to kill my grass (Pet Friendly) and semi-succeeding. I use a concentrate spray of mainly vinegar, liquid soap, and salt and it suffocates the grass nicely in 24hrs. However the grass I have is very aggressive and continues to fight to grow back. I can either attempt to purchase some glyphosate and really kill the grass even more, or my thought was to slightly till the top surface (Hopefully chewing up more of the leftover grass) and then level the lawn before seeding. The concern is by tilling am I going to affect the microbiome that is already thriving?
When do you remove the straw mats/blankets? I'm on day 20 of a complete renovation (KGB). If I try to remove the blankets it starts to tear out the baby grass.
You have a lot of work to do. I need to get caught up, and see how it turned out. I'm sure excellent. Did you change type of seed from your last place? I've bought several brands of seed, all tall fescue over the year's. I've used Seedsuperstote, Black Beauty, the first I tried was Rural King 25 lb bags tall fescue. Plus a couple other's. The last several year's I've been getting my tall fescue from United Seed company, out west, either Nebraska or Iowa. They have been in buisness over 100 year's. I plan on staying with them. Good product, good folks. Thanks. John
Priceless is right. This video was so satisfying
You're such a tease! Looks like all that backbreaking work has paid off. Hope we get to see a mow or two before the season is done.
You! My sir, are a seeding maniac!😅
It looked like you had some fun on seeding day.
Very nice really lights up the house. Nice and bright for solar.
Looking great! Excited for some mowing videos again ;)
Priceless....
That LTS looks like a mean machine. Looking to get one over winter. Heard good things!
Dude I love this video! Keep up the great work!
Seed! Seed! Seed!
That looked like a professional sketch to me sir
😂 semi professional

from the county surveyor
@@treasuredLawn a local mulch yard sells them
@@JEK you know they’re doing some road work down the road from me…you think they would miss the top soil they brought in?

You've come a long way.
Where did you get the straw blankets? Do they come in different sizes?
How much seed did you apply?
Straw blankets are from a local place.
3 lb Kentucky bluegrass
.75lb rye grass

I’m wearing that shirt today too bro.
Good work.😁
Way to go on the drainage ststem!!
Dang boy. That's awesome! Where did get your blankets?
The slaps are back!
Look into pre germinating your KBG seeds for future seedings, 100% worth doing, would have saved ur last seeding
I would have had to pre germinate hundreds of pounds of seed. No chance I’m doing that haha I would do much smaller spots though
Better enjoy that 2 yr. old my grass is still here, but my 2 yr. old is 31 yrs. old now and on her own. time has flown by.
Where is the most affordable place to get the straw blanket rolls and the products you used?
Wow I bet blankets over the whole area was expensive. Looks great!
Yes it was! But worth it for me. Wish I had just done it all to begin with
@@TheLawnWhisperer Yes a time saver
That was a tease 2sec of what the grass looks like but what you showed looks great👍🏻
😜 I’ll show an update very soon before fall is over!
The camera just doesn't show how large your lawn really is. Plus with editing its sure looked a lot easy then in was! Turning our Awesome!!
Sheeeewwww!
Will the straw help with water erosion?
Yes that’s why I used them
Am i first😊
I am first😊
Sprays on top of the blankets!? With that logic, mind as well put the seed on top too while your at it
Not at all the same thing 🤷🏻♂️
I cannot express how much I hate grass. My whole yard would be gravel or ground cover if I had my way.
I cannot express how much I believe you are in the wrong place. But I welcome you. It’s safe here.
