The Cathay Pacific YVR-JFK is a cool 5th freedom route. The amenity kit that that offered in Premium Economy is also pretty nice.
If you're wondering who their competition is it's Air Canada Vancouver to Newark NJ but that one has an advantage it's the u.s. immigration checks done in Vancouver instead of New York JFK for this Cathay Pacific flight that originates from Hong Kong
Agreed. Like seriously it would be pretty fun to get amazing airline food on a four hour flight lol
Thanks!
The thing that is cool about being in an airport that is dark and snowing at the moment is when you're on the plane. You feel like you're warm, safe and comfortable. Or like when you are in a cabin in the middle of a snowy mountain.
Awesome to see Air New Zealand there at YVR covered in snow 😍
Livery is really stunning😍
Yes because NZ doesn’t get any snow usually.
this is literally the best aviation channel! frequent videos and excellent execution! thanks for this man
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it
Great video - the tarmac action in Vancouver was like being inside a snow globe!
I took that route, back in September 2001, since I had flown out to HKG (nonstop) on UA 821(?), 9/04. Needless to say the events on 9/11 forced me to change my return flight.
I was the first time I had flown CX, trans-pacific. We had a layover in Vancouver - they used a 747. The flight was uneventful but the Vancouver JFK segment was empty. It was like being on a ghost flight.
Never took that routing again, since CX had started NS service from JFK to HKG and I became a CX fan.
I had never imagined flying Cathay Pacific from Vancouver to New York until now. Awesome video.
Really liked this one! The snow and YVR traffic, awesome.
Thanks! It looked amazing!
One of the best airlines in the world...
I love his videos especially with the music 🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶
Never disappointed in your video and commentary*****
Thank you!
Really enjoyable report. You are really getting better and better with each report. Also, I love your music choices and video editing style.
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that
Great video! Brings back great memories to when i visited Vancouver for the first time it’s so amazing.
Maybe your best video so far. As always, I like your sytematic reporting..and the way you make the trip the center peice, rather than yourself, like many new trip reporters. But the first quarter of this video is a true master piece. Fantastic..airplanes in all their beauty in the snow..combined with a stunning combination of sights and sounds...soooo good. Never seen such a video of airplanes in the winter..excellent camera work..six stars:) Unfortunately, all those frequent commercial breaks ae nerving me more and more...
Thank you so much! I try to make my videos about the experience as much as possible. I'm glad to hear my camera work is improving! I'm sorry about that, and I'll try to fix it in the future
Your videos just get better and better. Well done! 👍
That's quite a beautiful plane
Nice view of Vancouver snowy day as well as snapshot of Air New Zealand B777-200 aircraft as I worked at Air New Zealand in YVR on that snowy day. LOL.
My goodness the old Cathay livery on the 777 just looks so, so, so handsome
They should’ve kept it! It was an amazing livery
@QFS Aviation Agreed - at least keep a few bird in it, like how American does with heritage liveries.
@@iaexothey are now all painted in the new livery 😢
@@Youtub77W Yeah it's too bad. Just so bland without the red
@@iaexo moreover they are now painting their 777 in a new and worse livery with a big title 😭
Hi, I'm a big fan. Great work. This might be my favourite video of yours. I love all the runway action. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers.
You deserve so many more subscribers your amazing especially the hard work you put in keep it up
Love the review, beginning was great to! That snow wow! Nice video
this Q re-view is brought to you by good food, and comfy seats with legroom. even on a red-eye flight in the middle of a snowstorm qman was able to get some good shots, including a nice landing at JFK. well done Quebec Foxtrot Sierra
I flew this flight 3 years ago. Even though it is in Economy Class, I still love the flight and I have the rating as 9/10 overall.
Subscribed! What a detail video, it's like your viewers were sitting right next to you. You vlog helped me make the decision to book my CP flight on PE to NYC in October, also from YVR. Thanks. I laughed when you even showed the puke bag and then noticed you enjoyed the meal but skipped the bok choy lol.
thank you. really appreciate this! Will be flying premium soon
No problem! Have a great flight
Yes, Cathay Pacific s a very good airline!!!!!! Very nice Flight Attendants and Pilots every time that I have seen them....
Beautiful video! love the plane spotting at the beginning!
That music is hella fine. I Keep playing it over and over!
That lakey inspired intro tune/ your sick filming = GOLD✌️✈️🤙
Amazing video I love trip reports with snow its awesome. Keep up the good work
Thanks!
Fabulous video! Great to see what Cathay Pacific has to offer in Premium Economy. =D
Sweet trip report! That food looks delicious!
Very nicely edited and filmed trip report QFS, highly enjoyed it! By the way...24:19...that guy seemed just a tad close to that BA747 :D
Thank you so much! Oh yeah lol
Now this is the content I like
That's awesome that Cathay Pacific has flights from Vancouver to NYC originating in Hong Kong, similar to Air Canada having flights from Santiago, Chile to Buenos Aires originating in Toronto. I also enjoyed seeing the Alaska Airlines flights in JFK, they just started flying there in 2015. :)
Cathay Pacific flying from Vancouver to New York.
Me: Wait, That's Illegal.
I was about to say that
Yeah cool route though
@@jubeanfn5233 imagine emirates from JFK to LAX
It’s called a hidden stop where it stops there mainly for refueling but takes advantage of getting passengers who booked directly with Cathay or other codeshare carriers. So the route should be HKG-JFK with a stop in YVR.
not really
Hehehe..Looking very nice...Yes, when you have long haul try to always get the window side of the aircraft...Premium Economy is nice....With me flying it is always the legroom that is first in economy class that is the most important. The Premium section is there...Fly safe always..
Cathay Pacific also tends to flies much faster than Air Canada. AC548 usually completes the flight between 4.5~5 hours and Cathay complies the flight between 4~4.75 hours. I took CX888 from YVR to JFK on February 26 and heck it took only 4 hours... I didn't even have enough sleep. XD
You mean the one going to EWR Terminal A AC548/549?
Congratulations!🎊🎉
beautifully done. very high quality production. keep it up!
Thank you so much
Great trip report Q! As I’ve said before, it there’s a chance of snow here in the U.K. every airport shuts. Great video. Keep safe buddy! RgY. 💯👍🏴
Thank you! Hahaha I bet that is the case
Awesome 5th freedom route.
Fantastic editing!
Thanks! 🙏
I vividly remember this crazy snowfall we had, was flying out to Manila aboard EVA and wow the cleaning crew was very much non stop. 😳
My local airport and my favourite 777! awesome! :)
Awesome video man!! So glad you went to Vancouver, to where I live. 😍
Thank you! Vancouver is very nice!
QFS Aviation your welcome! Well hopefully you come back soon!
Great Video! 👍🏻 I flew ✈️ this route just a few months ago year in Premium Economy too! While I generally loved it, I ironically found all of the amenities to be a bit much considering there isn’t much storage! I don’t usually use the pillow, and only occasionally used the blanket, so I always had to stuff them under the seat in front of me 😂. Otherwise, it was great. (Btw, it was amazing you caught the snow in Vancouver! As a regular visitor, I’ve only ever once seen a tiny amount of snow there.)
Thank you! It’s a great product, but I do agree with you. I couldn’t fit my backpack under the seat, and the pillow was very big. 😂😂
Great trip report 💞👍
Props on' the sexy slow jam instrumentals. I'm diggin'.
Thumbs up just because the strobes somewhat matches the beat.
So snowy. Looked like the movie "Airport" from 1970.
I’ve never heard of that movie. Should I check it out?
That was a huge plane
Massive thumbs up by me mate!
Thanks a lot!!!!
Awesome trip report! I think US carries should offer premium economy on transcontinental flights.
Nice! I never knew that you can catch a flight with Cathay Pacific from Vancouver to JFK. I thought it was just from Hong Hong to Vancouver, refuel and then go to JFK without picking anybody else up.
Why would they need to refuel? They do JFK direct...
Philippine Airlines used to compete on this route too but they switched to direct flight when they got their A350s
Why were the crew flashing various lights @ 3:21? was it to communicate with the marshaller? I was thinking, since you cant see the lines because of the snow, they were repeating back their instructions with their lights... anyone know?
Nice in past I see this kind Airbus A340 in Anchorage, Alaska for go Toronto, Canada from Hong Kong, China way long trip but love see Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airways. That I see both in Anchorage and Toronto cool
excellente vidéo
That meal reminds me of high school cafeteria food
you dont deserve 20k subs
you deserve 20 million subs
Damn I was worried for a second... thank you!! Hopefully one day 😂
@@QFSAviation yeah me too keep up the grind
Agreed.
Отличный обзор, Квентин, впрочем как и всегда
Спасибо вам большое!
What camera did you use to film the airplane taxiing into the gate? Super good quality! BTW I never knew Cathay did this route!
Mets747 it’s in the description
So lucky!!
Beautiful shots of the planes on the tarmac during the snow...I hope your mom doesn't see this video...you didn't eat your vegetables.
Yeah it came out amazing! Hahaha
Maravilhoso Vídeo Meu Amigo
I never knew the premium economy has an IFE remote !?
hi qman. well i started out tracking this flight, but about half way to jfk i fell asleep. sorry! haha you ever check any bags on your trips? if so , any issues to report? nice video, thanks for sharing. and oh yeah, only one little jimmy ad lol
omg you’ve done a gorgeous video. it was so cozy to watch. can you try to film more vids in winter?) tnx 😊
impressive
cathay....has been a good airline
We need more fifth freedom routes
If Qantas can get JFK-LAX bookable I would be so happy
QFS Aviation I second this! Would easily do this rather than flying ua every. single. time. LAX/SNA-EWR.
That route as well as Turkish’s Mexico City-Cancun route. It’d make for some interesting flights
If this flight is still in service it's worth flying SEA - YVR instead of suffering Alaska's 'Endurance' First Class where you get breakfast as the only meal on a SEA - JFK/EWR flight.
Hey man! It would be cool if you did a tripreport at RDU. Btw love your vids! Keep up the good work!
I'll try to! I want to take the AA 777 to LHR. Thank you!
@@QFSAviation If you do, I'd love to meet you! Always been a big fan!
Could you do an allegiant trip report? Great work on this one!
I think Cathay Pacific has the best Premium economy. I fly it very often
Yeah it is amazing!
I luke the boing 777 of New Zeland is very nice the color
Good channel.
My mom went to Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific airbus a330 or a340
Tahsin The Bangladeshi Gamer The Airbus A340 was retired by Cathay on April 10, 2017
Cool
I'm confused... How did you mange to get a flight from Canada to the United States on a Hong Kong airline?
igotanM16 ikr
Cathay fly to NYC via Vancouver
I see my boy didn’t eat his book choi😂
Был я в Ванкувере, красивый город! Я знаю ты русский читаешь)
They also let low level Greenies check in priority at HKG and very long lines for J pax esp Oneworld ?QF J class Golds..no F checkin
QFS',How many times did you fly the 777-300 or 787????
I get it was coming down but that line should of been brushed ahead of him coming in.
When Vancouver has snow and New York has none..
IKR
Hey I know you recommended to me Alaska airlines for la and told me about American being expensive and spirit being uncomfortable but what would you recommend if I wanted a layover American Alaska Spirit United Delta JetBlue Sun Country Southwest or Frontier take out the fact that there may not be any ifes and the food looked delicious and nice video
I’d recommend JetBlue, delta, southwest, or possibly sun country. They all have their pros and cons. Southwest is the cheapest, even though they include two free checked bags
@@QFSAviation have you tried southwest max yet and does Sun Country have an app
What’s the song at the beginning of the video? 00:00-2:34 is when it starts and ends.
The Process - Lakey Inspired
ótimo!
Plz specify it’s an ER
Why many planes are so green ?
the de-icing fluid
ever thought of doing flights to suriname, guyana, french guyana, trinidad and tobago.
Yeah! I really want to fly to Tahiti though
there has snow ,,the workers need to extra working ..😃
What's your home airport
2:31 it's not 10 years old its way older than that
Leon Hertrich you just can’t call someone an idiot for not knowing
Eat your BokChoy...lol to bad the de-icers did such a lousy job and left so much snow on the body of the plane. Awesome report....
Is that what it’s called?! I forgot to mention it because I had no clue what it was. Yeah the de-icers get a 2 star rating. Thanks!
I find it odd a plane like this hasn't had L.E.D. landing/taxi lights installed. Surely those incandescents have burned out since it was new . . . .
Hello, I think the background music in the beginning is unnecessary.
....in every part of the vid I meant.
JFK is opening a new terminal by 2026! Terminal 6 is reopening and a lot of airlines from terminal 1 is moving there!
Is this your first time flying on an Asian carrier?
Yup! Very exciting
Do Philippine Airlines still fly this route?
I believe it is only seasonal during the summer
Yes PAL flies YVR daily
