I’m very curious why this car didn’t win the Ridler Award? Was this car shown before the competition?

This car was first shown at the 2023 Detroit Autorama, as the rules for the contest require. It was certainly one of the top three cars to win the Ridler award - at this level, it all comes down to what the judges like. BTW, the guys at built this car will be back for the 2024 Detroit Autorama with a different '55 Chevy. Although it will not be in the Ridler completion, it will be prominently displayed on the show floor. The car is a tribute to the 50 millionth GM and just like the original it is plated in 24 Karat Gold. Here's the story on this amazing build. www.eclassicautos.com/
