  • In this video three seemingly identical compliant mechanisms are demonstrated as well as a monolithic equivalent design. The mechanisms look identical, but one has positive stiffness, one is bistable, and one has zero stiffness.

    If you can 3D Print something like this, I imagine the mechanics of an entire engine could be made to work with 3D Printed mechanisms.

    Why COMpliant and not just Pliant mechanisms...? The former implies something that abides by a set of rules, the latter simply that which is flexible, which seems more apt.... 😋
