Shoutout to Jeff, for providing the second camera and doing an amazing job lighting the set! And to Dan for tackling the edit! I'm really impressed how well this video turned out. There's more of these in the pipeline, too.
I know this is an older video, but 5:10 makes, very possibly just me, laugh. Jeff is learning how to play the game, so to draw he reverts to blackjack rules, and NOBODY says anything, they just hand him a card. Idk y, but I crack up every time.
It is also important to note (since you guys didn't play this way) that in the official rules, it is actually "illegal" to play a Wild Draw Four if you have another playable card in your hand. Now you can still play the Wild Draw Four, however the next player has the ability to challenge to play. If the card was played illegally, the challenged player draws four instead. But if the challenger incorrectly accuses the challenged, the challenger then draws six cards instead of four. Side note, if someone forgot to say UNO, any player can challenge before the next player makes their action and the challenged must draw two cards.
We always play where if you have nothing to play, you have to keep drawing until you get something to play; some people would end up with some _pretty_ big hands lol
That's a common rule for many people, and we play that way sometimes, too. We decided to just draw one since it tends to keep games (and in this case, videos) shorter.
Mal chooses red with her wild card because she knows none of the other "Uno" people had red, and everyone knew she didn't have red either so she didn't give away what color she had to win.
I used to play Uno with my family where you could lay down multiples of the same number or type of card, but different colours, as long as the one you start with is the same colour.. making things glorious and vicious when you make someone pickup 8 cards.
You know what you guys should do? After each round, change dealers, and give the dealer the option to add in any of their house rules, but only ones that they actually remember from playing with family.
I'm glad I support Mal and Stephen on patreon so I can skip ads without feeling bad. I lost were I was as my internet crashed and now a 8 minute ad came...
I remember playing this game in college oh boy the frustrations we had it was a great way to relieve stress taking it out on your friends and classmates Without violence
Oh boy, this game. I once played UNO at school (with like two other people) and I got hit with the color change to red and I didn't have any red cards so I went through the pile and couldn't find any reds. Like this never happens but I couldn't find a single red card. It got so bad that I began to cry laughing. Eventually I managed to get more than half the pile and finally found a red. Thankfully that's the first (and currently only) time I've began crying laughing playing UNO. Also glad to know I spent 28 minutes watching people play UNO.
I love it when the house rule is that you have to draw until you can play (when you can't go), and then the.person just ends up drawing the whole stack. But then they have all the good cards...
Fiskool well you don't have to say it if they don't catch you. It actually could benefit you not to day uno if no ones really paying attention, since then they wouldn't know how close you were or not.
Actually, he *did* say uno, it was just a bit delayed and since no-one caught him, he was okay. (For the record, he plays his penultimate card at 6:07 and then says uno at 6:11.)
ZoruaLover01 Imagine if they'd added stacking rules. I also play what my friends call "Spicy Uno" and it has sooo many more house rules. 1. If you have another copy of the card that was just played, you can play that card out of turn and skip everyone else. 2. Every icon card is stackable. 3. If a 6 is played, everyone has to slap the table. The last person to do it draws a card. If another 6 is played in succession, the last one draws 2 cards. If a third 6 is played in a row, the last person takes the whole discard pile. 4. If a 0 is played, the person who played the 0 gets to swap hands with someone else.
Darkness, Death, and Riches Most of those are actual rules, except instead of swapping cards with a specific player, all hands are swapped going whichever way the turns are going. Sevens are the ones where you can swap with a specific player.
Once, my friends and I played the variation where you could stack cards that forced you to draw. After the stack went around the circle a time or two, one unfortunate soul had to draw 12 cards. He'd only had 1 left before that. He was not amused.
stephen, yall messed up, you keep pulling ards until you can play something until you get to after 5th card where your required to go into the deck and pull out the first red you see, then shuffle the deck
Stephen..just pay the woman already! LOL Hayley brings much entertainment :3 Dan is amazing. I will never stop saying this :) Jeff is amazing. (but where the eff was the camera for the card shot?!?!?!) I love Friends vids..they are a weekly highlight. SO Glad these came back. Can't wait for more table top! :D
actually Stephen, you had eleven times the amount Mallary had, but actually more, due to the fact that ten times fifteen is equal to one-hundred and fifty, yet eleven time fifteen is equal to one- hundred and sixty-five.
Uhhh... so Uno is literally just Jack's Change with different cards? Jack's change works where you place down a card of a same number or suit. Jacks are the wild card, 2s make the next player be forced to put down another 2 or draw 2 (And then the next player has to put down a 2 or draw 4 and so on...), 8 makes you skip a turn, and a King makes you change the direction of play. For having a last card, you *have* to say "Last Card!" or you pick up one
There are a bunch of different card games with similar mechanics. I think most fall under Crazy Eights as an origin, then branched out with different/added rules and sometimes (such as with Uno) specialized decks.
Oh, I agree re. the game. What I meant was that I preferred the Last Supper settup to the way they were sitting when they played D&D in the past. I can see them better this way. I am sure they will play D&D again :)
eizhowa Oh yeah, I agree with you. But I don't think they'll do it this way because then the people at the heads of the table would have a hard time reaching the dungeon map. Or, they'll need a shorter table.
The draw two rule if a person is caught with uno is a house rule, The core is only one I believe There is a challenge rule but i have no clue how it's supposed to work, it's also a house rule
Actually, those are both normal rules (challenging someone is that usually you can only play draw 4 if it's the only card you have you can play, and if you play it when you can play something else and someone challenges you, YOU draw the 4 instead). But they're considered not fun, so pretty much nobody plays them (though having to call Uno at your last card is usually kept and required so that people are aware you're about to win), and some versions of Uno remove them from the list.
I know how that works: For example the card in the middle is Green and you play Wild Draw 4! The player who's next can challenge whoever played the Wild Draw 4 and by that he secretly shows him his hand: If he has a Green card, the player who played the Wild Draw 4 draws 6 cards as a penalty and the next player plays normally (for lying and not playing a Green card), if the challenge fails, the next player draws 6 cards and doesn't play his next turn.
Well, thanks for the corrections then. I thought challenging was a house rule because every video game version of the game(Except the 360) I've seen doesn't use that rule for the default rules.
Shoutout to Jeff, for providing the second camera and doing an amazing job lighting the set! And to Dan for tackling the edit! I'm really impressed how well this video turned out. There's more of these in the pipeline, too.
Is the draw four rule too complicated?
You had 11.2 times as much as Mal.
#PutDanInTheAboutSection
StephenPlays can't wait to see you guys do catan and munchkin
also, I think we all want more of this a la tabletop with Wil Wheaton. you appear to have the wheaton curse down
It's so great seeing Mal with more confidence :D
And Stephen is the new Jesus?
I enjoyed Lindsey occasionally flashing her cards to the camera so we knew what we had.
when i saw the thumbnail i immediately thought of the painting "The Last Supper"
"Either come for blood or don't come to play" - Lindsey 2016
2017*
Derpy Fish i believe these were filmed in 2016
Pretty sure this is Cheffcon from this year since Lindsey wasn't there last year.
I don't think they've done Cheffcon this year. Lindsey did go last year, I had to make sure but check early September 2016
I know this is an older video, but 5:10 makes, very possibly just me, laugh. Jeff is learning how to play the game, so to draw he reverts to blackjack rules, and NOBODY says anything, they just hand him a card. Idk y, but I crack up every time.
This was so much fun to watch! I love how it's just you guys, a table, and a game, so you really get to see the lovely chemistry between you all.
25:30
> Mal shuffles
> Immediately gets +4 to take Stephen out of the game
It's like the Last Supper, except instead of Jesus and the disciples it's Stephen and his harem of Uno players
Aww no stacking? It's always great watching one person get 24 cards or getting skipped for 5 turns, especially when they started the chain.
Wait... Uno has points? I've been playing it wrong my whole life...
Your Friendly Y-Guy I have too, don't worry 😄
I'm pretty sure Stephen made up the point system, so that 3 rounds could result in a single winner
The point system isn't made up by Stephen, it's just not commonly used
+Emily EmKaKe
Oh, okay.
No, you have been playing it right, it's just you've been using House Rules, which is always okay

These videos make my Saturday night (they get released 11pm for me, so I really have to wait). Excited to watch this!
Man I love it when Mal looks at the camera all evil like!! MWAHAAHAHA
17:11 Five "+2" were played in a row. That's brutal.
Yes! Please tell me this is going to be a series and not just a one off
I would like to see as a Memorable Moment a montage of all the times Alex had to pick up four cards.
Hayley telling her card that it shouldn't stay with her cause she has had no friends is something I would do lmao.
We always play where if you have nothing to play, you have to keep drawing until you get something to play; some people would end up with some _pretty_ big hands lol
That's a common rule for many people, and we play that way sometimes, too. We decided to just draw one since it tends to keep games (and in this case, videos) shorter.
This was really enjoyable to watch! Also dang did Dan do a good job on this! Can't wait to see more tabletop games!
Shout out to the guy with the Orzhov syndicate shirt. "Nice shirt dude."
Mal chooses red with her wild card because she knows none of the other "Uno" people had red, and everyone knew she didn't have red either so she didn't give away what color she had to win.
Yay! Tabletop gaming is finally a thing on StephenPlays! More of this. This is good. Telestrations would be amazing.
lindsey and alex's rivalry was riveting
So they weren't bots, huh. The more you know, Stephen actually has real life human friends, congrats
*dying can;t breathe*
*laughing too hard*
*INHALE* please do more of these. this was awesome.
THERE S TWO PARTS WHERE JEFF LOOKS SUPER SALTY AND HE LOOKS DIRECTLY INTO THE CAMERA AND IT KILLS ME
These are going to great!!!
that was nice - hoping for more of these
I used to play Uno with my family where you could lay down multiples of the same number or type of card, but different colours, as long as the one you start with is the same colour.. making things glorious and vicious when you make someone pickup 8 cards.

y'all gotta do Phase 10 oh my god
i finally understand how stephen plays uno on the vlogs
This was fun to watch.
It's no Uno: The Movie, but nonetheless still fantastic!
Just a suggestion, you can do the video game version as well.
am i the only who prefer watchin UNO in this way than watchin it in videogame forme? this was great...and Mal is such a UNO goddess!!!
The trend of Mal Is Good at Everything continues.
Oh boy, this game. I once played UNO at school (with like two other people) and I got hit with the color change to red and I didn't have any red cards so I went through the pile and couldn't find any reds. I love it when the house rule is that you have to draw until you can play (when you can't go), and then the.person just ends up drawing the whole stack. But then they have all the good cards...
It was also at the end of the block so I didn't really have time to get rid of them. This calls for a rematch!
ALEX NEVER SAID UNO IN THE BEGINNING OH MY JESUS PISS
Okay, glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. I thought I was going crazy for a minute.
I wander how many cards Alex picked up in that last game.
Nice to see games like this.
23:24-23:55 I’m really appreciating Lindsey’s cute dance here. ❤️
Mal, you are truly a card shark.
Now you have to play games with English and Spanish cards
"After round 2, I am ffff-" xD
There are other versions of the game like Uno Attack and Uno Dare.
ZoruaLover01 Imagine if they'd added stacking rules. I also play what my friends call "Spicy Uno" and it has sooo many more house rules.
1. If you have another copy of the card that was just played, you can play that card out of turn and skip everyone else.

I was half expecting this to be like that smash tournament stephen did.
You guys should play 1000 blank white cards again that game is fun to watch
They have on StephenVlog, but it would be fun to see it in this series too.
I have never seen Uno be so aggressive.
iiMuffinsaur
If you want to see aggressive Uno, check out TheRPGMinx on UA-cam and watch her Uno videos.
iiMuffinsaur Or better yet, instead of aggression, if you want to see despair, go watch the...three hour long "movie" the Achievement Hunters did.
I have been binge watching Tabletop during my son's naps, so this makes me super excited!
(*´꒳`*)
Mal is some kind of Uno Sith lord...
This was cool
tabletop magic in the works??
One foot in the game
I hope so!
I loved this!
stephen, yall messed up, you keep pulling ards until you can play something until you get to after 5th card where your required to go into the deck and pull out the first red you see, then shuffle the deck
Great series :D
Stephen..just pay the woman already! LOL Hayley brings much entertainment :3
Dan is amazing. I will never stop saying this :)
Jeff is amazing. (but where the eff was the camera for the card shot?!?!?!)
I love Friends vids..they are a weekly highlight. SO Glad these came back. Can't wait for more table top! :D
GO MAL!, GO MAL!!
Chaz with the Orzhov shirt
Is the song playing during the video from the Persona 5 Sound tract?
actually Stephen, you had eleven times the amount Mallary had, but actually more, due to the fact that ten times fifteen is equal to one-hundred and fifty, yet eleven time fifteen is equal to one- hundred and sixty-five.
question, if the first person draw the +4, can the next person draw another +4 or +2 and the other next person draw +4 or +2 like a chain reaction?
Alex de Espanol es muy bien. Best Alex.
best video
Uhhh... so Uno is literally just Jack's Change with different cards?
Jack's change works where you place down a card of a same number or suit.
Jacks are the wild card, 2s make the next player be forced to put down another 2 or draw 2 (And then the next player has to put down a 2 or draw 4 and so on...), 8 makes you skip a turn, and a King makes you change the direction of play.

There are a bunch of different card games with similar mechanics. I think most fall under Crazy Eights as an origin, then branched out with different/added rules and sometimes (such as with Uno) specialized decks.
Just a suggestion but y'all should play cards against humanity. That would be hilarious to watch. Lol
Man...now I wanna buy Uno cards so I can play with my friends at school...seriously, I *live* for that kind of fun.
Alex looks like he's just drinking a straight whiskey or rum. If so respect.
Well, UNO wasn't exactly the game I thought you'd play first :D I hope this will be more regular than a couple of videos each year :D
The Intelligent One I think he started with uno because it's Numero Uno! (please don't kill me, I have so much to live for)
Don't worry, I've heard and made worse puns.
I prefer this format to the D&D format.
eizhowa in all honesty, they're what got me into D&D in the first place. Bring that back! it was so interesting!!!
Ok one question. Where's Dan?
BTW__ I like this version of Stephen and Friends. TableTop games are great
The Board Game videos are coming :D
My family played a deck a person and you had to draw in till you could play.
Were these filmed last year or more ago?
plz do more stephen
Haily looks so small sitting in between Jeff and Chaz's
Yeah, she is actually short irl though.
Alex and Lindsey speaking spanish at the beggining is soo weird for me PROPS YOU SPEAK GOOD SPANISH. FROM A MEXICAN!!!
More.... More... More...
This is the weirdest was of playing uno I've ever seen. It's like crossed with Phase 10.
this looks like that jesus painting
I never had scores in my Uno games XD
Hm...this is a new way to uno. I 've always played it as a variant of crazy 8s
Never played Uno. I am...so confused.
YOOOOO CHAZ HAS AN ORZHOV SHIRT! THAT'S THE WORST GUILD BUT IT'S STILL MAGIC SO IT'S FINE.
when you think you are Jesus but you don't know which way is clock wise
I love Haley
Ok quick question, could you do clue?
im so used to the other way of playing that no matter how many times they play Uno it looks so weird to me, but its interesting
The other way? It would probably be good to be specific since there are many many ways to play uno.
Nishisuura You're probably used to the Stack rule and Draw Until Play rule being in effect, aren't you? My family calls that "Murder Uno".
okay true, the game where you have to get rid of all the cards in your hand thats how i normally play
that's how they are playing, do you mean where everyone has to get rid of his or her hands? That's normally how I play
yeah thats the way i play too
you should do monopoly next
I like Uno.
The guy in purple is hating this ha
Isn't there also a rule where you can challenge a person who plays a draw 4? And if a person who has uno doesn't say "uno" they draw two cards.
The draw two rule if a person is caught with uno is a house rule, The core is only one I believe
There is a challenge rule but i have no clue how it's supposed to work, it's also a house rule
Actually, those are both normal rules (challenging someone is that usually you can only play draw 4 if it's the only card you have you can play, and if you play it when you can play something else and someone challenges you, YOU draw the 4 instead). Neither of those are house rules. They are both official rules of the game.
I know how that works: For example the card in the middle is Green and you play Wild Draw 4! Well, thanks for the corrections then.
I thought challenging was a house rule because every video game version of the game(Except the 360) I've seen doesn't use that rule for the default rules.
I use to have friends....but then I played Uno.
why nobody ever calls the bluff on "draw 4", especially when it's the first card played?
* *Former* Friends
I thought April fools was over...
whats the beer jeff is drinking?
