What a great contribution the Army is making in literally blazing new tracks and ensuring provisions are getting to unfortunate victims of Cyclone Gabrielle. All power to you guys.
This is why when I came to this country 25 years ago I never wanted to leave. The sense of community is amazing. Thanks guys a mammoth task and yet you’re still smiling. 😃
WOW you're truly special men & women, the dedication, insane training not only the body but the mind takes a special human being, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts that this is the vocation chosen, achieved by such wonderful and incredible "kiwis" - you are our "leaders". You are so appreciated ! ❤
Thanks NZDF, tutira really needed that. Also thanks to the forestry contractors doing the bulk of the work on that road and track. 3 of the 4 diggers were forestry machines.
Awesome boy's and girl's from the army, and a huge shout out to our Ausie cuzzies helping out in the bay as well, safe trip home across the ditch on Sunday,So much appreciated, ANZACS always together, through our hard Times,
Must have been so so hard to be cut off. Wonderful to see the Army working with others go get through to give communities relief and access. God bless everyone.
thank you to all you lovely crews land sea and air support ,supporting our men women and children, animals to get to safety snd helping to clean up the mess, much love to everyone ,and the biggest thank you ,I love this country and all that are living on this beautiful land of our we call home.god bless you all.
Oh thank you so much . we have a family member in waikoau and been so worried for her..mum feels better knowing you guys are doing all you can to connect the village with the outside world.Plz take care and blessings to you all
I feel like NZ is one of the only countries, where you could hand power over to the military, and they’d run the country so well, and be so highly trusted to act in the best interests of our people, that most of us would be very reluctant to revert back to the old democratic processes. Processes which have often let us down, or made us feel like our peoples best interests were being ignored, and put behind those of special interest groups, businesses, foreign investors, foreign governments and sneaky, disingenuous, local politicians, who will never be straight up with us about much. Three waters is a great example. It’s already been put into law, yet the government are pretending they parked it, and trying to avoid any mention of it.
Why are the Army getting all the credit, it's Higgins construction manning the heavy machines , it will always be construction companies that know what to do ,Army just backup the contractors, eh.
You sad little man, these guys have done wonders, the 5/7 battalion team also, some of these reservists hold full time employment and i salute them and their employers giving them time off to help those in the community that are in need, i served in the 5WWCT Battalion and freely gave my time during the Whanganui floods of March 1990, our NZDF always step up to the plate during times of civil emergency, i hope you Darryl Kennedy never need the services to help you out in a time of need, in which case would make you a hypocrite if you did.
Woud rather be paying them to 'do nothing' than paying them to kill or be killed. And in times of tyranny and corruption, The Army is one of the only factions of Government that comes to the aid of the people as opposed to serving private interests like the clowns and puppets in parliament.
@Ohio Steam and Steel yeah guaranteed its better than killing kids in Afghanistan and Iraq and destroyed the city's,now they are facing a real army not looking so hot.
Where are the girls in the army ...no we are equally important ..we want equal pay ..and we want respect .but we don't wana do anything except have kids ..

Amazing to see an Army in a positive light, it really hits home how vital these services are in times of catastrophe.

Should use the army to finish off the shoddy roads around the country.
Finally some good use of tax payers money.
Oh wow looks like these kooks finally have chainsaws now and not just joy riding

Beats paying them for doing nothing I suppose.
