The loggers used to run sticks down river to the mill as late as 1970, which was when the Golden Road was constructed. I myself have driven all the way to St. Zacharie, Quebec. The border crossing there is pretty much forestry traffic. The solitude is unmatched once you're past Pittston Farm.
If it is a one way bridge, you almost made it there. Abol bridge has a great view of Kathadin. It is on the Golden rd about an hour past Millinocket. There is a little store and camping spots there at the Abol bridge
Sound like what I was looking for. Can’t believe I turned back before I found it. I’ll log the name of the bridge in my journal for next time I go back lol
Thanks! It wasn’t the gravel, it was the endless bumps and deep pot holes. The road conditions were bad. It was a rental car, it was getting late, and we were in the middle of nowhere haha

Sounds awesome, I should head back and drive the whole thing

@BRAYXOTIC yes, from the looks of where you where in video, I bet you were less than 5 minutes away from there.
@@JayDabz_710 tbh this really pisses me off sounds like I turned around at the last minute
It's about 20 miles in from the start of the road. you almost made it.

It’s pretty cool. I wish I did the full length
Nice video, but why did you turn around? ... the vehicla cant handle a gravel road?
