Thank you very much, this helps me a lot. Now in quarantine period teachers throws us just lecture slides and expect us to understand directly. I sold my car to pay school tuitions fees and not understanding lessons where as you delivering us quality content for free, just cool.
I am sorry to hear about the troubles you're facing. I can understand the frustration of professors showing slides or explaining things minimally, since I've seen it happen even before the quarantine. But I am glad to hear that this helped you :) Stay safe, and keep your family safe. I wish you good health and the utmost success for you in your endeavors. Best of luck with your studies!
Man, my Prof are still like that. He doesn’t really teach…just does a lot of talking
I'm going to write an exam now
I'll update this comment with my result, I pray I do well 🙏🙏🙂

My professor just really finished this topic in 40 mins or something, but, I was clueless what happened in those 40 mins. Gotta say, these 8 minutes were worth! Kudos, keep making such easy-to-understand videos! You gained a sub, sir!
Glad it helped and thank you for the sub!

@@QuestionSolutions i am sorry jf I was not clear but By bohr's model i meant bohr's atomic structure. Im sorry but english is not my first language
Ah, okay, that makes sense. I was trying to figure out what the Bohr's model had to do with statics 😅 So I haven't really covered any chemistry yet on the channel, and I am not sure when I would cover that topic. There are lots of videos on that topic, did you do a search on youtube?@@joc4970

Very much helpful
Glad to hear!
I dont know if this contradicts what you are doing, but what I have been taught to do is after getting the relation e.g Sa + Sb = 0, to then draw a free body diagram for each system and to assume the direction where the cable length increases to be positive. thank you for the video
There are many ways to solve these problems. I think its much easier to just pick the direction of your position coordinates to be positive, instead of going back and forth with positives and negatives trying to find which moves up and which moves down. It's completely up to you, but with this method, if you get a negative value, its opposite to the direction of your position coordinates, and if its positive, its in the same direction. Its a lot easier to keep track of. This also eliminates the need to draw free body diagrams since you said your method requires that as well. In the end, it's entirely up to you 👍
thank you so much sir ...

How did you get sb +2(sb-sc) = L2 in question 2?
So you have to isolate for SC as shown at 3:55 and then plug that value into the first equation. Please follow the blue line I drew, and then plug it in and you will get sb +2(sb-sc) = L2. :)

could I theoretically have said Sa+Sb+(Sa-2Sb)=L for the first equation? Also your videos are incredibly helpful!
Hmm, no, because that doesn't account for the cable attached to block C. So Sa-Sb gives us a small section on cable A, if you subtract 2Sb, I am not sure what that accounts for, I guess 2 lengths of Sb from Sa, because you're "subtracting" the length of Sb from Sa. Also, since you only have Sa and Sb, you can't get the velocity of C. Usually, I think its a lot better to keep them as simple as possible, just a position coordinate per pulley. I am glad the videos are helpful :) Many thanks!
If you taught every engineering course I would've graduated in 2 years top
Maybe one day, I can expand into more and more subjects. If you don't mind me asking, what book did you use in your thermodynamics class?
@@QuestionSolutions Not the person you asked, but my class used Fundamentals of Thermodynamics (either 7th or 8th edition) by Borgnakke and Sonntag (pdfs can be very easily found online lol).
Thank you for your videos! I struggled with this topic in particular for a while but you explained it SO WELL!!
@@stm9442 Many thanks for this, I wanted to see what books are used at different institutions. Very much appreciated!
At 5:03 you give the equation for pulley B’s cable length. Why Sb+2(Sb-Sc) instead of Sb+2Sb-Sc? I’m having trouble seeing where that second Sc term comes from.
So if you look you can see there are two cables between pully C and B. SB represents the length from the datum to pully B, so we don't have 2 of those cables. So it can't be 2SB. How can we determine the length between pully C and B? We can do that by subtracting the length of SC from SB. So the total length to pully B minus the length to pully C. You have 2 cables, so we get 2(SB-SC).
maaaaan u d best
