just realized that Akio Matsuda is the film producer of this anime... that's why it's so good... if you all know kaichou wa maid sama, he was also the film producer of that one

I just watched it and its pretty good with a satisfying bitter-sweet ending. My mom read the manga when she was younger which caused me to watch this. And I can recognize that Hayami voice so easily now :P

Yamato's manga won the Kodansha award in 1977, the shojo series the same with Candy Candy Manga. Sadly, Candy Candy can't have this wonderfull remasteritation as Yamato's Anime did.

That's fascinating! How did such a Japanese series translate into an Italian dub? Here in Finland, there were also many anime series that got released with Finnish dub (such as Silver Fang, Sherlock Hound, Candy Candy, etc.) but they were always heavily localized and moat of the references to Japanese culture were cut away.

It looks like a more dramatic retelling of Dropping In On You. Which was an army propogrander heavy romance drama. If it really is about the characters it could be pretty good. I'll have to check a review & find out.
Just watched this earlier and this is the only movie that I don't want BOTH of main lead to end up together, I prefer her (benio) to be with chief instead huhuhu. I cant get over about this, the male second lead got me shook on him. Second lead syndrome strike me to the core, indeed. 💯

one of the purest love stories I've seen.. this plot is most likely similar to other movies but this one is special :) and also the ML is so gentleman
