Thank you for your comment- the potentiometer ended up being OK. There is a mechanical cylinder stop that is needed from Adec. I will make a video installing it. 😊
Hey i live in the carribean and i have going through some problem witch a DSD dental chair it wont go up or down im thinking on changing the electronic module box can u help ne out ?
It looks to me like the small set screw is used to align the plastic gears when the potentiometer is in its full clockwise position. Set it as you move the gears into position and leave it. Then loosen the larger screw to move the gears apart and rotate it the two teeth that the instructions call for. The potentiometer can be checked for proper operation with an electrical tester. Do this instead of changing parts. There are technicians and there are parts changers. Chose to be a technician and your job will be much easier and it will all make sense.
Thanks for tuning in! In another video, the answer was actually a missing spacer. You are right that sometimes it's a good idea to whip out the voltmeter. In my experience, though potentiometers can have bad segments that are hard to troubleshoot. The part is less than $20 And I have learned that sometimes replacing part that is not the culprit is still a good move because it removes one possibility of a problem. Thankfully, there are different ways to do this job.
Yes, there are 2 screws either side of it. Remove those and the cover. There is the handle with an Allen wrench. You have to loosen that and move the handle and re-tighten until you get to a position where the lock/unlock is in alignment. Not a hard procedure and likely to fix your issue.
So. I ve been watching dental unit repairs for a couple months now..I am very interested to do this job . I am quite in minus because I have zero.knowledge in absolutely everything.. dont know nothing about electricity ,pumps, compresors, wires etc etc... but my ambition and passion for this job is huge. The main problems are :I dont know how to start and have 0 experience.. where I am at there are 2-3 suppliers that offer and provide job as a technician but the dont need them at this moment. How can I get into this job 😔 (feel dissapointed because I want this so much but nothing goes to my favour.. i know the saying If you want something that bad you will get it Just dont know how to start thats it
That's great to have an interest in this field. You should look into opportunities to learn electronics and how to use a multi-meter. Keep watching these videos and read manuals. What city are you in? I will see if there are any biomedical equipment technology programs in your area. This program is in our area. www.schoolcraft.edu/pdfs/guides/programs/Biomedical_Engineering_Technology.pdf My background is as a BMET in a hospital. It is a very rewarding career path.

@@DentalEquipmentRepairChannel I will look it up.. also I think major role plays the understanding and knowing the multi meter... thanks for your effort and time with your replues.. gonna follow your channel. Keep up the good work
The potentiometer was good! all you needed to do was adjust the gears by loosening the set screw. The chair should not go higher than 23.5 inches. This was an easy fix that went way too far and I assume costed the customer more than it should have.
We'll, I did the best I could. Lol. Maybe you should check out the next video where you can see that the chair needed a shim. Don't worry, this customer is on a monthly maintenance plan. They paid the same amount of money they would have either way. Plus, I always subtract service hours for time spent making videos if it causes extra time. The intent of these videos is to help the dental community and spread knowledge. Obviously it is a little risky to shoot a live video, but I'm not afraid to show the truth of the dental equipment repair experience. It is not always easy. Thanks for watching.
Engineer Jason, great job. Can you move the variable resistor? RV In the hand while descending the chair to make sure it stops
