Kati Wolf represented Hungary at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, performing the song 'What About My Dreams'. Hungary came in 22nd position in the Final with 53 points.
I'm so proud that we (Finland) gave 12 points to Hungary! :)
Thanks!
I still don't know why this entry was so underrated!
+0301Janek This song wasn't underrated. There were high expectations, but it failed live big time. Her vocals didn't live up the high expectations from the studio recording. Also, in ESC the visuals are super imortant, which means this super cheap trashy dress is a disaster and the dancers are also so wrong and doesn't fit at all.
It is a great song, but they failed to make it work live, which is a shame :)
+Mycenaea She could failed but still amazing all the performance and even better than Azerbaijan because they really FAILED at the live performance
+Chris Moscoso Coronel Well, how likely is it that Azerbaijan won it 100% legit?
zombieguyproducion well it's bad because almost every country sent amazings songs that year they won thanks to the turkish diaspora beacuse it's well known that turkey didn't qualify as you can see in the results since 2008. Why Azerbaijan didn't won in 2008 2009 2010? it's because Turkey was on the grand final and in 2009 and 2012 Azerbaijan was higher than turkey, because it's on the song BUT Turkey was on the top 10 too, in 2009 Az came 3rd and Turkey 4th so that proves that the turkish diaspora has a lot of power and even since Turkey is not in the contest the western countries got good results
No haha That year was one of the worst. Turkish diaspora (like Germany) would not vote for Azerbaijan.
I was obsessed with this song/performance as a kid and I'm still listening to this in 2019,,, woa
:-3
This is the best song of all songs in eurovision song contest of all time!!!!
Greetings from Greece!
From Italy I say this song deserved to win the ESC 2011 !! It's awesome !!
The best song from the 2011 Eurovision!
Can't Believe This Came 22nd !
What Happened Europe? XC
***** Sucks on them
They voted for the worst song in the final. No exaggeration.
she cant hit the high notes, her singing just isnt that good
siries??
inpasible
Like the song. Too bad, she was just average on stage. Lacked punch.
für mich die No...1 Song super!
so underrated! :(
The best song ever!!
;)
The best song Hungary nominated for EuroVision up to date .
You know, surprisingly, this was one of my most favourites - the song sounds just good, very eurovision-like, like hungarian part in it, also she CAN sing. When I listen to ir on my mp3 it sounds better than live version, but still it;s amazing. It totally deserved better place.
Wishes from Lithuania!
It is a good song. Still in my mind since 2011, when i was in Dusseldorf
Best song in Eurovision 2011! Voted in in both semi and final!!Very underrated!!!
the running order killed Hungary and Estonia. So many similar dance songs next to each other. Plus, Kati should have danced and moved around the stage. The ring was distractive while the dress didn't flatter her
+Alex4u That dress wouldn't flatter anyone.
What about my dress ?
Found it pretty sexy actually.
But a dance song lacking dancing is a bit... ²²
Still, she deserved a top 10 at least.
What about Finland?
Jó voltál Kati!!
She was a favourite at odds that year, and then 22nd in Final
Brilliant song, brilliant performance. What a voice!
February 2021
10 years ago! OMG I miss these songs from Hungary :(
The best song of the year!
To me it's a perfect good-old-eurovision-like song!
Such a great song. Deserved much more.
This deserved to win. Unfortunately, Hungary doesn't get any sympathy votes!
+George Austin Tay The studio version maybe, but they failed big time with the live performance so it isn't weird it didn't go better than it did. They failed everything; the voice, the dress and the giant tacky Dollarstore ring and the dancers.
Mycenaea
I don't think her voice was bad in the live performance, but I do agree that it should've had more dancing and that it was quite flat.
+Mycenaea the dress made her kinda look old for her age at that time
This was the best Hungarian song, but they messed it up.
I can't believe that people like you are not able to accept differences in personal opinions.
At the time I voted this 20 times and my country didn't give her a single point. Unfortunately Portugal only loves funeral songs
The real winner was hngary!!!
I m hungary
I love everything about this song
12 points From France
A magyar résznél kiráz a hideg!
It’s 2024 and still masterpiece ❤
Love from Serbia
She deserved more more better place
Gio turner Weak performance
Petter John: as poor as your comment;)
Better with headphones, for sure!
It's like saying that an Armenian has Azerbaijani friends. It doesn't change the fact that the relations between the two nations are very bad.
Why did she sing this song in English? It's more beautiful in Hungarian (Szerelem miért múlsz)!
a nice song anyway ❤ I think it should have ranked much higher
12 points from Slovenia
Beatiful song
I loved this song in the studio version and I thought it would end Top 5! But live singing was not good. She couldn't control her voice, I don't know why, maybe she was too nervous on the night. Dress and hair didn't do her good either. And the song is amazing in Hungarian! She should have sung it in Hungarian, then her not good English accent wouldn't have been a problem. Nevertheless a deserved final song and I love it in the studio version still!
What about her win?
Yes, this is true question !!!
Forgotten how good this was!
This should have won, this was by far the best song!!
clearly writing MACEDONIA...this is not place for politics comments...i am macedonian and I dont carre what is your opinion about my country...I love Greece and all friendly greec people...lovely greec music...and beautiful greec places for summer vacances...Now you have just your yellow minutes...so however you can understand that the world goes foraway with love, friendship and peace...have a nice night friend...and love from Macedonia or your north neighbour :))
12 poins go to Hungary
actually, this is not underrated. her points are really high but 2011 voting is so interesting and she could only got 22nd place.
how on earth did this get 22nd place?! - Greetings from US =)
real winner hungary
this song was good, shocked it came so low
The sound balance sounds off on this recording. Still a fab song tho’
She sings like Whitney Houston.
hell no. Celine Dion, maybe?
Yes! I thought I was the only one who noticed it. Sound like I wanna dance with somebody at some parts.
kween!
i love it!! :c 22nd place?!
What about her twelve points??
The song was so great, but the performance and her live voice...
I'm surprised that she didn't do better, was she not tipped to do very well?!
@Marijox1990 I am totally agree with u!
@kissklari i hate the winning song but they had a ballad so they shouldn't dance. Hungary came 17th in televoting but 20th something in jury voting.
this is a singing competition, not a fashion catwalk :P
but yes, agree :)
Any key you like, love.
Yes, but it's not because Hungary didn't deserve it, it is because those that did not vote for them voted for their more appreciated neighbors. Here in Spain we have the same problem. Even when our songs are great, we can't expect votes from Eastern Europe, and Portugal and Andorra often fail to attend the contest so we have to rely on France, Italy and a few others. Unfortunately that's the way it is.
Anyone in 2024?
👇
Is Celine Dion hungarian?
@MetafellerOfficial Yeah still but it was way better than some contestants. Albania always has a strong Eurovision entry but due to politics and stupid juries it doesn't do well. The 2011 entry was great, better than most.
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ WOLF KATI ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I like this song much better than Euphoria and Loreen's annoying voice. But the problem is: Kati's performance was quite "cold" and her live singing also far away from perfect. It has deserved a better place anyway.
I really think the Hungarian version was better, but her singing is PHENOMENAL in any language.
Her dress and that ring ruined it! If she had moved around when the song picks up the performance would've been better! It's a dance track so please dance!
Finland had great taste to give 12p to Hungary! but the performance wasn't good, Kati didn't move until the last few seconds at the end of the song
dat ring gives her +122 mana and +12 frost resistance
hahaha you sir deserve a cookie
Lmaoooo
+Matt Lewis lmoo
+Cosmoss Regularuss but is wonderful song!
+Cosmoss Regularuss song is amazing. but this comment is so damn funny for ring.
She was so much better in the final than the semi. Amazing song, deserved better than 22nd.
+Jesper Hjellnes Poland with Margaret - cool me down 2016 will repeat Hungary.
+cherry1311 I love Cool me down! Hope so much it will represent Poland.
This placing gave us legends. Who doesn't know about Epic Sax Guy for example 😂 Even Flo Rida came in this legendary placing this year (together with Senhit).
Even my country in 2014 tried to start a fire, but in the end no fire, just this cursed placing. 22nd.
@@fyr_og_flamme_vasil lights off in 2022 is also amazing
@@vassilistopaloglou170 I agree, my 10th
The Hungarian part is beautiful, I wish she sang it all in Hungarian.
YESS
Same!!
Indeed, the song in hungarian sounds amazing, I think the English part ruined it. :(
Kati Wolf - Szerelem Miért Múlsz (whole song in hungarian)
Definitely Szerelem miert mulsz is much better than What about my dream
Twelve years on and I'm still listening.
I was sad when my country didn't give You any points.Love from Poland, Brothers!
This is hit and today,11 years after 🔥 i love this
My top of that year:
1. Slovenia
2. Germany
3. Hungary
0:54 "What about my knees" what's wrong with her knees? ;/
I think it's supposed to be "what about my needs" but it did sound like that 😉
:-)
maybe they hurt ;-)
*I broke them with a hammer*
Unfortunately the live performance was not so good, the studio version is so much better. But This is still my favourite song of the ESC 2011❤
How did this song end 22nd, and Azerbaijan end 1st? This song is so much better than the winner!
Literally 80% of the songs were better than Azerbaijan, so yeah
Azerbaijan won the televotes, so stfu
Both are good stfu haters
@@fyr_og_flamme_vasil hi!
🇹🇷❤️🇦🇿
Hungary is always underrated in eurovision song contest, because lots of countries are paying to eurovision, but you cant buy talent,Hungary's trying to prove it,and i am sure they'll do,i am not deaf, all hungarian songs deserve minimum top 10.
Jack Daniels well they came 8th in 2013 and 5th in 2014
except for 2012 from 2011 they did deserve top 13 every year imo
Jack Daniels they get top 10 quite often actually if you'd check
Thank you, from Hungary ^^l
köszönjük :)
the Studio Version is very good - it was one of my top 10 favourites. but the staging, the look of Kati and live vocals were really bad.
Her live vocals were good. What shall we say about the winners, Ell & Nikki? Those were TRAGIC vocals.
+George Austin Tay not for my ears, Sounds very flat. the girl from AZE was even worse.
I actually prefer her vocals here, studio version has no soul. I still think it should have ended in TOP5 since 2011 had very poor songs: Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Armenia - very good songs were all very underrated and almost every TOP10 song very overrated.
Ez a ruha lol
This was a great Eurovision 2011 song. wow. It could have won...Still talking and thinking about it in 2014 only goes to show that it has left a lasting impression on Eurovision fans.
Amikor magyarra vált, mindíg kiráz a hideg...❤
Ebben az évben akár győzhettünk volna, egy hosszú ruha, Kati egy magaslaton áll, sötétben és füsttel kezdődik a dal, majd a gyorsabb résznél bejönnek a táncosok. Innentől világosabb a színpad, több a fény.
Almost 13 years later...still the most iconic Hungarian entry
A többivel nagyjából egyetértek.
@@blista2 Téged sem az eszedért szeretnek.
Idk but I have a feeling that every year a song is robbed. 2010: Iceland, 2011:Hungary, 2012:Norway, 2013:Germany, 2014:Israel, 2015:Spain
For Spanish people (not for everybody, of course), in 2015, Spain deserves the last place or that place was so good for us. For us, that song is horrible, she is beautiful and has a brilliant voice, but the song isn't good at all.
Yes Barei had a horrible song, mixture of rnb and dance, this is why it did not get many points.
Stanislav Krajcr That is 2016, and Barei and Say Yay were brilliant
Barei and Say Yay was strange, as many people mentioned to me, it was not a standard catchy dance song, did you hear the rnb flavour in the song? Total crap.
Stefan, and because of that i dont watch EV since 2012. To much robbery
A wonderful song from Hungary. Thank you so much!
Love it so muchhhhh ❤
My favorite songs from Hungary came from 2011 and 2016
Моё 1 место в 2011 году. Очень жалко, что Кати не попала даже в топ 10. Голосовал за неё во время финала ❤️🇷🇺
Still a reason to love Hungary!!!!
I liked the Hungarian version more
Yeees she should have sang it in Hungarian!
Wonderful song and singing I still listen to this day. I miss my Hungarian friends I worked with too. 😢
12 points from Poland.
❤
The best of the best
Szerelem Miért Múlsz I always listen this song in hungarian from 🇪🇦
Still one of my favourite songs in the studio version. I just think it was translated to the stage all wrong, with this disco motif.
She was so underrated
This song is boom
I love this song, so powerfull!
As a hungarian I can say this is our best song ever has been on Eurovision, but to be honest, she really failed with this weak staging, and her singing was not as good, as in studio version. It was of course suprising for everybody, but yeah, she did a mistake, but we are all humans. I think nowadays songs aren't as good as in studio version :D It can be michrophone's problem.
Back there we didn't know our (Hungary's) Eurovision golden era will start with her.
this Song was too good for ESC! you don´t have any chances with that kind of songs. 12 Points from Austria!
sadly, the running order draw put together so many similar songs, back to back, like sweden, ireland and estonia, as well as hungary, so they had not a really good chance to stand out. i really loved the idea in 2013 and 2014 that the producers chose the running order, it gave the show a much more enjoyable experience, i'd say.
Very true, and the running order since has been very careful, because of that choice, to allow different songs to stand out.
This song (along with Joy Fleming in 1975) will go down in history as the worst performing song that should have won that year!
beautiful song! I really like it :)
