Great to see u two again its been awhile. Ur wife is even more beautiful now. Than when u met her. Glad ur still sailing. Ive been looking for a cat found one but have to sell my RV bus to get it. Good luck Terry.
These channels got me going, I am struggling in America as the police in a small town incriminated me, the bank destroyed me. I am leaving and now I am going to buy a sailboat. It may take me a few years as I know absolutely nothing but I am more than motivated. Thanks guys, already searching for what I want to liveabroad. Tiny Homes, what are people thinking?
I like your Good grass roots reality of cruising channel. I've been following since the boat tour. Been fishing a long time but I certainly don't know it all. Cedar plugs are generally for tuna and you need to put them way back. But awesome trick I was shown was a ketchup squirt bottle with alcohol(cheapest rot gut) in it, one squirt of the gills and the fish is done...and what a way to go! Cheers!
Definitely sushi time. I don't have sticky rice but I'll make due. Glad your back. Not sure if you flew over any hurricanes near Mexico ? YES, followed the KNIFE on the second watch. Wow !
I really liked this video a lot....I like this rash of “day in the life” videos in the sailing UA-cam community lately...oh, and yes...there was more Kimmi....that’s always a nice touch...
I like you guys. I have been taking sailing lessons and want to do something similar. I enjoy the way you are living life in the present and not really caring about the future or the past it seems. I was conditioned to always worry about future events. ie retirement, savings, etc. I feel like this has held me back from having more fun and taking more risks in life. Hopefully I can live as you all are in the near future. Good stuff!
I'm a new subscriber! Just watched all 35 episodes in 2 days! Good stuff! Hook me up with one of those sick coconut bowls you carved up so I can be reminded of the life I need to be living every morning when I eat my oatmeal before I head out the door to be a slave in my little concrete world, lol Looking forward to episode 36! ⛵️⚓️🏄♀️🏄🏽🍹🍺✌🏽🤙🏽
Whats up guys...love the sailing and the sails... Cleveland is rockin that Ohio winter tan, Kimmi looking her usual BBB (Berlin Blonde Bombshell)...awesome Mahi, almost stuck you , James...still say if it's raw, it's bait LMAO! Favorable winds!
In the summer sail to higher latitudes in the north. In the winter sail to the lower latitudes along the equator. You will be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Snow birds
Sounded like it was almost a mutiny there on the way back to the boat, lol, but all was better when you got moving again, as that Mahi Mahi was a Really nice one! Even if it did try to use your own knife against you once at the boat! You could see that humidity hit you all when you got there, but that storm certainly cooled you off..amazing how that works. How you all are doing better than great when you get this, and much love sent your way as always.
I viewed as first episode one with the broken sail and though - what a crazy guy sailing through the Panama Channel with something looks like a handkerchief. Got two German girls with him and think all times on crazy things. I have to revise after I saw some (not all) videos more. You repair like a pro, show boat life and can be very serious. Fair winds Tom
Well that was a sight. That fish new karate. Soon as she brought out the knife it slapped the knife out of her hand then slapped the crap out of the skipper and almost jumped out of the boat
Did you catch that on a Cuban yoyo hand line? I have a 200lb line with cedar plug I haven't tried yet. I'm single handing mostly and if I do catch a big one it will be a big job to slow down the boat under full sail and pull in a fish I suspect. I also have a trolling rod with 60 lb test and haven't hooked anything yet.
Ai Sus, James.... You spent time in Hawaii...never bring a big fish, especially Mahi into the BOAT ALIVE...hahahaha LOL Knock that bad boy out...Tends to keep things like hooks out of your body.... and knives... LMAO... great video BTW.
seems like maybe at times it might have been better to drop the should (i.e. the wind) and have Jampes play the piano or something.. I am always thinking - lately -- English isn't Kim's first language ---
As a fellow veteran , I noticed in one of your videos you said that you were prior Navy. I was prior Army myself, but I will have to say that watching all of your videos I almost wish that I would have joined the Navy instead just for a chance to be on the ocean. Just kidding, Army all the way!!!! No, but really I can't wait for you guys to get your new CAT so you can start posting again!!
that almostlooked intentional on the fishes part he seen the knife out of the corner of his eye and said now or never lolthe panic in james oh no that would have suced the worst mr fish put enough in iyt to make it back in the water good save james
Really educational and interesting and beautiful-to-watch videos. Lots of work clearly goes into the filming and editing and commentary. You're really living dream lives, lives billions of people would love to know how to do and have the means to do. Cogratulations for seeing your dreams through. Re the long periods without catching fish . . . I hear no one mention that one reason that the most desirable fish are getting scarce is because of hundreds of locals (and Japanese, Korean, Chinese perhaps, and Russians, and other South and North American (and many others I'm sure) commercial boats slowly cleaning out the ocean. Antonio's catch looked mostly young and immature. You may be "living the life" in one of the last eras of the oceans being at least a remnant of what they once were - at least near the coasts. In protected places like Ille de Cocos, maybe not so much. What do you thing about this? Surely you talk about such things with the locals.
For killing fish I use the Ikejime method fast humane gives best quality meat and simple Check it out in wiki or you tube You can use a sharpened screwdriver Hope this tip stops you from getting injured by hooks or a knife Thanks for the film great to see you back on board Maybe one day you will visit us in Fiji
That was definitely a female Dorado (Mahi Mahi). It has a round forehead in profile. Males have a more square, sharply sloping down forehead in profile.
Not trying to teach you how to 'suck eggs' but think you should consider some safer options for dispatching your catch, a priest/small club (also good for keeping crew in line) or even better use a spike (old screwdriver sharpened to a point).....google "ike jime" and brain your fish, every time you clean a fish have a close look at spine and brian location you will soon learn their basic anatomy....happy days
I feel bad you guys mention in a few videos you don’t have any food aside from fish and rice and I’m all about living of the land sea ocean whatever but you gotta keep healthy.... maybe I could send a care package or some money for canned goods.
Another episode of Sanford and Son!!! Very enjoyable!
Great to see u two again its been awhile. Ur wife is even more beautiful now. Than when u met her. Glad ur still sailing. Ive been looking for a cat found one but have to sell my RV bus to get it. Good luck Terry.
editing is the key, James putting your heart into it, is the fuse!

Nice save on the fish. and fawk you need a new dingy. Peace and be safe out there.
You both are sooooo talented with your channel. Down to earth. Beautiful with each other and so attractive!

You the man James, and kimmie 🔥!!!! Y’all keep it up brother!
Wow that “Zingaro made Sushi” looked really fine👊🏽
im amazed at how high that drone can go at the end there.
must be really handy for sailing let alone for just filming.

Dacron rules! We have a 15 yr. old main up here in Canada that still looks great in 5 knots or 25 knots.
Try mango. Some local bitter greens. Scallions. Love the teknoswing. PEACE

Very nice!
awesome vid!!
I always carry a "fish killer".....the top 18" of an old wooden oar.....I use it as anesthetic! Very effective!
A club like that is often called a priest in fishing circles , used to deliver last rites to the fish ;-)
Drill the end of a kids baseball bat and fill it with lead is another way to home run a fish, makes for a good defensive weapon too!
Sailing on a budget you guys are badass

08:00 Hey, how come those boards aren't down?

Tom
Thanks Tom. :) Much love back to ya brother.
To give an extra jolt to your wake-up effort, just do a line of wasabi powder. It has a lot of power.
Wow!!! Nice Mahi - good catch. Did you hooked it with the Cedar plug and how far behind the boat did you trawl the lure?
Well done. What is the incredibly delicious piece of music beginning at 8:10 please? Nice sequence.
Mellow times of life :)
Nice music
Well that was a sight. That fish new karate. Soon as she brought out the knife it slapped the knife out of her hand then slapped the crap out of the skipper and almost jumped out of the boat
Missed you all, so glad your back, or maybe it was ut, anyhoo always make me laugh. Quick ? Does James do anything :) Fair winds. Thank you.

hot english mustard makes excellent wasabi substitute
can you video some surfing?
Oh wait I didn't tell you that part? Evil! Just Evil!
How else you going to get vict I mean crew on board?
Hahahaha! Ja, it’s always a riiide to go to the boat from civilization. People don’t realize that.
seems like maybe at times it might have been better to drop the should (i.e. the wind) and have Jampes play the piano or something..

lol. You're a funny dude, but you need some punctuation in there, fool.
Please, Set English subtitles for more people to see.
You can do this simply in the video settings.
I want English subtitles.
Nice! A mahi mahi! +1
dammittall, had a huge dinghy discussion a long time ago and where did that getchya?
Yeah, right? They're expensive. Still don't have another.

Thanks for the film great to see you back on board
Maybe one day you will visit us in Fiji
nice sushi
Rough hood when even the fish are trying to knife you.
Good one :)
Ninja - fish!
Sushi yes FRESH
Get and keep a spray bottle of high proof alcohol and then spray it in the gills first to subdue it before you use the knife to bleed the fish.
That is an interesting idea. A sort of anesthesia?.
@@bartofilms No, but he dies happily.

Vodka in a spray bottle into the gills seems to be the most kind way of putting the fish to death and it is very fast and easy
too bad it wasn't a swordfish. otherwise it would have been a fair fight! hahaha
♡♡♡
Kimmy!!!
The dolphin or mahi mahi was swimming towards the boat that's why it felt like it wasn't on
😃👍👍👍
At that point (when the fish knocked the knife and almost made it out with his life) I would have granted him clemency just on his karate skills.
cool the rice in the fridge ya muppet
guys why is it having eggs if that is a male mahi. nice catch though.. fair winds
