I was sold within 20 seconds. Did not need to watch the rest, weldone! I've had a cheap mid range optima 1080p standard projector which was incredible. I'm sure this will be next level.

i used one like this in the video geni.us/Sviar and it produces a good result.
I wish the contrast was better. Blacks look hazy. Have you thought of getting an ALR screen?
native contrast is around 3000:1 on/off which is very good for a DLP, the bacl isn't very good but the unit in this review probably isn't calibrated so we can't know for sure how good will look. Still at this price point Epson is, i think', the only good option out there for movie experience.

Is it much different from this model?
From what I read it’s just like this product but 2x better. Instead of 2,000 lumens it’s 5,000 lumens. Everything else seems to be updated and improved. 3D support and much more. But idk anything about projectors. That’s why I’m researching! I want the best 4K 3D projector in the market that can handle 170” - 300”

Black level seems good but not class leading. Lack of motorized lens at 4k dollars/ pounds almost inexcusable. Otherwise looks good!
It might actually produce better blacks if you had it on a CineGray screen. I have a Epson 6050ub 4K projector. And at first had it on a Matt White screen. Which still put out a good picture. But the blacks looked faded along with the contrast. I bought a Elite Screens 3D CineGrey Projector Screen for $800 and it made a huge difference in blacks levels, Contrast and overall picture quality. Projector screens due matter if you’re willing to spend a little money for quality.
You're right Chris, this is something I tried when I got my Vividstorm rising screen which is grey, I was really surprised about the difference!

what about DLP rainbow artifacts? when the woman moves the ring left and right at 0:13, there seem to be some rainbow artifacts in the area between high contrast differentials?
You don't see that in person, only camera's pick it up.
No one talking about speckle side effect of laser projectors. Some people are very sensitive to that issue.

They made it just dumb. Who would like to buy 2 players just because the designers didnt have brain to make 4k/hd on both inputs...

Color looks good, but it seems the blacks are lacking. The black scenes look dark grey. ? Maybe different in person. ?
You do realize that projectors can't project black, right?
black is only white at the ambient brightness of your room. Increased contrast and a brighter projection can only get you so far. In order to have good blacks you need a dark room.
@@RufftaMan I've owned 2 projectors over the last 10 years. I know about black levels. This demo was shot in a dark room. It is possible that the camera is not reproducing the actual black levels, but I have since read elsewhere that the blacks were less than ideal.
