I never understood this area, everything about it is so strange, especially its placement. It's almost a visual polar opposite to the Deserted Town, though it does bring some sort of solace to the dark and desolate feeling of a lot of Wataru's maps.
The thing about Wataru's maps is that they are always extremely high quality, so it seems to me he really cared about the game. However, since there was a bit of controversy surrounding some maps with amateurish quality being added to the game, I'd wager that he'd taken offense to the fact that other people could half-ass it and place their maps side-by-side along with his. This seems to me like a parody of those amateurish maps, with mismatched styles, inconsistent perspective, flat color palettes, no sense of lighting, and uninspired themes. However, I do find this juxtaposition in quality to be quite comforting, almost like it's saying that you don't have to be perfect, coffeeman will always be here to share a drink with you.
That would be understandable. There aren't many low quality worlds to be found in Yume 2kki, though the ones I find sorely lacking are ones by author ROKU95 (who has several labyrinth worlds that are incredibly similar.) It would be understandable to get irritated over seeing worlds like Concrete World get in after having crafted such a masterpiece as Overgrown City or the Bottom Garden, but ultimately I would disagree about him taking offense from that issue. From my perspective, Coffeeman's room is more about the strangeness of dreams and how they can be realistic and vivid at one point, only to vastly change with a blink of the eyes, or in this case, the opening of a door, what with the simplistic style of this room greatly clashing with the area it's in.
This track would’ve be if my bedroom has a soundtrack I’d be this one , still it gives me nostalgic child vibes and it’s a little melancholy and still cheery in a way it’s a unique track that really captures the dreams
This is one of my favorite rooms. I forgot the name of the previous world but it was very grey, very dull, and seemingly foggy and somewhat derelict. This place gives me the energy of places being far different from their outwardly look, compared to the somber joy that this emits. It reminds me of when it was rainy when I was younger, and going to an ice cream parlor. The contrast in tones is what makes this room immensely fond to me.
I never played this game, played the original first game a while back, but every so often I come across recommendations for music from this game, and honestly I'm glad. This track in particular sounds a bit like something I'd hear in Night in the Woods or LittleBigPlanet, and I love both. Maybe one day I can actually give this game a try.
I play Yume 2kki Online (solo) and I found this not on the game but on a roblox game called "sun, moon, and star, to all these i bid adieu" where there was a subplace that was a whole reference to this area lol
This song gives me mad nostalgia vibes of just staying inside and playing with your parents as it rains outside at sunset
Never thought about it in these terms but you're so right... I won't listen to this track the same way 😢
You just made me remember my childhood😢😔

GRAND DAD Feels like a hidden location.
That's likely the point, as it's in the bottom corner of the map and you can't reach it without a boat.
GRAND DAD Mhm... so rewarding too!

Other than being a pain in the neck to get up and running, it’s a fun game to play and definitely worth the trouble.

Coffeeman, Coffeeman. Takes a Coffee dump in a Coffee can.
This place is kinda comforting after all the emptyness and lonely feeling of deserted town its like a break from the loneliness honestly
Even in a place abandoned and left to rot, he still finds purpose in providing shelter and rest to wanderers. Good for him!
THIS IS A WATARU MAP?!
that's why I couldn't never find it
This track, the slow version specifically, has been re-added to a part of the City of Liars :D
