I can't tell you how happy I was to hear you say it is best to complete the face selection process outside of Refine! I thought I was just bad at using Refine. It never occurred to me that Refine works poorly and to just go back to AP and adjust the mask. What a great tip! Thank you for preparing and posting this video.
Very cool result. Shows me how much I have to learn and study to understand why you do the different steps. Opens up my mind to possibilities, now to increase my skills and understanding. Thank you for a fairly mind-expanding video!
Just a thought, would it be possible to include links to the images you used so people like me who are new to Affinity and this whole process can follow along with your tutorial? Thank you for the video.
This was overused about 15 years ago and fell away as a photograph technique. Then followed by selective colour, and HDR. But done well with artistic direction can be very powerful.
I have a question i have seen affinity designer and photo make beautiful composites logos and illustrations but i haven't seen any good use of it in commercial use like creating app icons and graphic kit of apple and googleplaystore apps or creating packaging or designing app interface i tried doing all these on my own i m a frequent photoshop and affinity designer and photo user to create themes and icons for launchers but affinity photo is giving me a hard time to save my exports i want to know how to keep max quality of assets i create in affinity photo while keeping size as small as possible for example- 192x192 app icon i made i want it in max quality but need the size to be 28 kbs so olivio is there any way to achieve this then i can permanently shift my work flow to affinity photo
another video with great ideas for the use of layer masks and brushes, congratulations, I took your package very beautiful gradients .. I ask you if in the future you could make some specific ones for the landscape. See you soon
I followed this amazing tutorial and being a complete beginner I used the same photos as you did and got a great result so I couldn't be happier and I joined your group on Facebook too. I have a question about the blend mode of "lighten" because I am attempting this again but my my image has much lighter skin and using the "lighten" blend mode doesn't show much of the background so I used the "screen" blend instead but then when painting in more of my background the colour doesn't match. Is there a way of doing this or do I need to use a different image of someone with dark skin to get the backgrounds the same colour?
I think that instead of making step-by-step videos, you should explain the reason why each layer is needed. Otherwise I just don't even know what you're doing.

Hi Olivio, Excellent, is it more difficult with colour photos?
A thousand thanks for these top courses.
Hi Alain, you need to adjust the colors a bit more, but other than that, it should pretty much be the same.
Sehr schön,sehr interessant. Etwas Neues gelernt! Vielen Dank aus Bogota, Kolumbien!
Danke, Tomas :)
Thanks sir.
Thank you for video.

Thank you :) It's probably overused now too. But it all comes down to how creative it is used and among all: if you enjoy doing it yourself :)

Anybody know if the Wacom Tablet will work with AP?
yes, works fine :)

a bit too complicated tho, agreed
