Once upon a time I had zero interest in projecting, but like you I love the whole process now!

It seems to be about generating “headspace” again? Nice one.

Can you do a video of how you work a trad route. Perhaps head pointing, placing gear on mock lead, rappelling in, etc. thanks!

What's the decision making process in regards to choosing a route for a project? Do you not think redpointing spoils the adventurous nature of climbing/excitement of the unknown?

All sorts I reckon, the line, the climbing feel, where it is, what mood I'm in. I have to be excited by it though otherwise its hard to put the required effort in.
Re. redpointing. Not for me no. Climbing is so many different things to me. Trying hard on a boulder problem, cruising a long mountain routes, enjoying the wildlife on a sea cliff. Sport climbing and redpointing has taken me to such awesome places and I've had amazing experiences, road tripping with friends, sharing beta with strangers and so much more.
If I want adventure, which I often do then for me that's what stuff like Gogarth trad or Alpine routes are for.
      Climbing's great isn't it!

Well said, climbing can be so varied and unique to the individual. It's good to get an insight into why people redpoint, coming from a mainly trad background I'm enjoying learning about the different niche areas of climbing. Would really enjoy a video on Big Wall stuff, but I reckon sling mountain might be a bit too small though!

What is a good way to clean the route if you can't reach the top? I assume lowering off a single bolt is also not the best idea since it's not redundant.

Clipstick your way to the top, that's my normal preferred method.
I've done a vid on the subject: ua-cam.com/video/wq3TDmJsOFo/v-deo.html
