Finally a moderator that actually does what it’s designed to do. Thanks for the legal advice.
Airgun Detective, it was a true honor watching your review. I loved the break down of the law in the beginning. It is imperative we are all understanding of our rights. The goal of this product was to be able to bring everyone an affordable option to use their PCP’s wherever they want! Thank you for your comprehensive review showing just that! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication! ✨🌈✨
@@timmy4539 is that you 👀
@@timmy4539 you are our mascot 🤔
Outstanding! That is most impressive. Thanks JC for going over the laws and the gray area that got that fellow in hot water. Just as a side note, local interpretation is everything as most LEO's can't know every nuance of every law they are tasked with enforcing so be prepared from time to time conversate about such toys; particularly if you deploy such items in an anti-gun area; just be respectful. I'd have that US Code definition of a firearm tattooed on that part, the BIGGEST word being firearm. Then again JC lives in the OC, and I live in the VC, neither of which is in LAC, and both locations are more favorable to such activities than much of L.A. County. Bottom line: Backyard friendly is the key here, if you live in a populous portion of the Golden State, I'd be tempted to have a sort of blind if you have nosey neighbors. You'd be surprised how much career advancement can blind certain individuals.
Thanks John 👍
I did a diy moderator (all low melt temp plastic internals to stay legal) for my .22 seneca aspen. Before the moderator it was borderline painfully loud. After the moderator, its quieter than raindrops. These things really work when done well!
It makes the shooting experience so much better! Thanks for tuning in 👍
@@AirgunDetectives I think I may have seen all of your videos lol i dream of making unconventional air rifles. I research them endlessly lol
In the Marines, we called them noise suppressors. Well done as always ! Semper Fi !
Hi JC, Great review, good topic with very important information, Sound moderators are indispensable for airgun shooters, principally pcp, Moderator by Cattleman Guns I didn't know it but I liked it, good looking, good price and excellent performance👍. All the best. Cheers
Thanks Buddy!!
Este moderador funciona muy bien. No lo conocía. Yo uso el Donny fl sumo que también es muy bueno. Un saludo desde Sevilla, España
BOY!! the prices have gone way up!!!
Great reduction at a very reasonable price. Great video
Frank, thanks for tuning in 👍
Hi.
Great review, big thanks!!👍👍👍
Thank you for watching! 😉
I’ve got three of these things and they all do the trick!!!!
It is our moderator!
I need this. I was just looking at which suppressor to get but this is cheaper than all the ones I was looking at
That intro got me crazy
Jc, thank you so much for this positive review at a time our friend cattleman has been getting a ton of backlash and undeserved hate. I had planned to and was looking forward to joing the cattleman family but now life stuff has got in the way. So I'm just all the more grateful to someone else giving Victoria the fair shake she deserved.
Assuming your noise measuring is accurate, that’s the best moderator of all time! Most achieve 1-3 dB reduction, which isn’t a discernable difference.
I am sure the meter is not perfect but the human ear does not lie. I could definitely hear the drastic decrease. Also, you are reducing the sound created by air, not an explosion. That may be the big difference. Thanks for tuning in and have a great weekend😉
I know my doubly fl that was $175 does not do this much
@Troy Hendrickson thanks for watching and I appreciate your comments 👍
@@carolbrown9550 I believed you
Great demo! Thanks! BTW what is the average db level for a 9mm firearm?
I can tell you a shotgun blast is around 160 dBA, so probably a little under that😉
Sweet topic! Awesome video!
I did though look at the length of the video twice at the beginning.😂 Were not really sure what was going to be gone through. 17mins about a suppressor?? Okay. Time well spent I'd say - now after seeing it all..
Thanks JC!
Thanks for clearing up the mud and confusion about airgun suppressors, now I think I'll get one, great job.👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
Wow... going to have to get one of those for sure 👍.
Thanks for the video ✌️.
Take care and stay safe 😷.
Liked and already Subscribed.
Cheers 🙏
Thank you for watching 👍
@@AirgunDetectives Cheers 🙏
Your evaluations are just so damn sober and useful. Thanks.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate the support 👍😉
Subbed and hit the bell I love all of Cattleman’s products. This was an awesome review.
I wish I could put one of these on my *magnum break barrel* (Hatsan 125 Vortex in .22) to make it more backyard friendly when I’m target shooting… that is one of the loudest break barrels because it has no internal suppressor
Where was this moderator! I just spent like $250 on a Donny fl and it doesn’t do that much DB suppressing 🤯
That's an excellent review on a new product. I've used moderators for years and will look at the Covert next time I need one.
Great review, always interesting and educational
The intro and product look stellar great review
Best moderator review I’ve seen great review
As of now out of stock detective. I put my email when available. I'm satisfied on the sound on the first airgun. Thanks for the review good video👍🙂
Nice one JC that’s a very impressive suppressor, & a great insight into the rules & regulations. Thank you 👍🇬🇧
Great review! Thanks for in info. Do they make those with revers threads my air rifle has reverse threads.
You can purchase adapters for the different airguns. Not through Cattleman but there are other companies that sell them.
@@AirgunDetectives thank you 😊
I like the sound on the first airgun with moderator on it. It's sounds like a baby clapping small peck👍 but the second airgun has the twang even it has moderator. Another good review JC thanks👍
I have a Hatsan AT44 like yours. Has seemed to be well built. Has some weight. I thought about adding a regulator.
Thanks for the video. Liked and subscribed (thought I already was?). It would have been interesting to see a comparison between the Covert mod and some of the other common moderators (Donny, 0dB, etc.). What has been your experience?
Also can you tell me if I purchase the .22/.25 model I can still use this moderator effectively on my .177? Thanks
Yes...it will work on the .177. They just came out with a whole new line of Airgun Suppressors. Happy Shooting!
I'm surprised you didn't do full chrony numbers for these rifles too FPS and FPE can increase. I do have a quick question though can these moderators be disassembled for cleaning?
Will it fit a Dpms Pather Air rifle?
Works pretty good.
Has Cattlemans finished their moving and have the moderators back in stock
cattle herder does not have stock of fraudsters can not buy products from turkey
Hi JC!
Been wondering this for a while now.. Have you changed the microphone or something at some point? The sound just seems to have changed in some way... or then it is just me.😁
Where can I find a review of the artemis b1400c 5.5mm?
Cattleman has 3 different moderators listed.each a different name and each are different lengths AND each has different expansion chambers..so, is it wise to say the longer of the 3 moderators with more pressure chambers will be the best noise reduction...ill be putting it on a Walther Reign .22 in the next week or two after i remove that crap that comes from the factory..Or in your experience whats the most quiet moderator out there?? Looking to make the Walther quiet enough as to not disturb the neighbors dogs that are 150 plus yards away and primarily indoor dogs at that.. thanks
Thank you
Why didn’t you use it on the cattleman t1 or t2
I currently use a DonnyFL Sumo on my .25 Umarex Gauntlet. How do you think this moderator compares to the DonnyFL, performance wise?? I get about a 10db reduction with the SUMO, BTW!!
Where can I go to purchase one of these. I used the link but it's not working anymore

I want to see your review on the KLI 2011 Combat Master Hi Capa 'Baba Yaga' John Wick 3 blowback pistol. Please do a review JC 🙏
Hmm im assuming only on pcp airguns huh??cause i have a hatsan mod 135 and i would like to see how one would look on it for fun
you would need to purchase an adapter to mount it on the barrel😉
Ohhhh ok i seen the adapter on there website im assuming its that one pretty cool thanks!!!👍
This probably won't fit the gamo whisper break barrel will it??
You need the 1/2 x 20 UNF thread to mount it.
Some of the higher end break barrels come with this option. Some of the reason they cost more . Haven't seen a Gamo break barrel yet with this feature . BSA airguns include this on there PCP's which a division of Gamo ( same company).
can baffles be added to shrouded barrels like umarex origin
I am sure anything is possible but I have not seen it done. Thanks for watching😉
With the Origin being so popular I'm sure someone like DonnyFL makes an adaptor for it ?
@@joedokes8641 you are correct, they do make many adapters for various air rifles. That's what is nice using the standard 1/2 x 20 thread👍😉
I checked and he does have a baffel set that will work with the origin
Who said suppressor's don't work on break barrels?
Shit cops tried to pin a weapon charge for a airgun in 2010 😆 wow.. Crooked as hell!
do you have to buy a moderator specially for each type of gun.
No, the barrel just has to have a 1/2 x 20 UNF thread. These work on .177, .22 and .25 calibers
looks like Hawaii in the background! 🤔
Silencer is the actual term used in the pattent os silencer is the correct term
So could a person make one and put it on there airgun...legally?
Essentially yes, but it has to be designed specifically for an "Airgun" and an "Airgun" only.
@Troy Hendrickson you can use any threading or materials you want, so long as you, as the mfg., intended it to only be used on an airgun. Do not put it on a firearm, and you're good. By putting it on a firearm, you are intentionally modifying (remanufacturing) the use of the product. Same thing for selling air gun moderators, if someone puts it on a firearm, it's not yours, as the original mfg's fault. Once they decide to change it's use, they then become the mfg. The main reason air gun suppressors aren't built as heavy as firearm suppressors is because airguns do not operate at remotely the same pressures as firearms do (not to mention heat build up from repeated firings (although cold brittleness can be an issue on really powerful airguns)); they can be made more cheaply, so they are, it has nothing to do with legality.
If it were about materials and threading and potentially being able to be used on firearms, then a lot of aftermarket motorized vehicle muffler mfg's would be in serious crap.
I've always called em silencers never moderator, muffler or suppressor
Silencer is not a Hollywood term. It is legal term. The word Silencer is used on all federal Form 4 and Form 1 NFA forms.
Look, you actually confirmed my point. The federal government is clueless in their terminology, just like Hollywood. Look up the definition of "Silence," then give me one example of an object that can "Silence" a firearm or any other style of gun, including airguns? Exactly, so what we have is a "suppressor." It reduces the noise but does not, "Silence." Happy shooting, and I appreciate you tuning in😉👍🏻
It should be UNT then JC. T for thread not F 😉
I hear a lot of negativity about Cattleman. From shoddy workmanship to even more serious things like pretending to donate a percentage of their sales to charity. I hope it isn't all true.
As of now is $99 out of stock
