I got Limbo Panto, Smother and Present Tense on vinyl and got them all signed by the Merch guy :-) totally one of my favourite bands to emerge since 00
Proper howler on the album name there Antony! Other than that though, it was an excellent interview. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Good questions providing good answers.
Nice interview, despite your erring on the album name. Love the whole of Present Tense, Mecca being a standout track. Hayden did tend to trail off at times, causing me to chuckle at your expressions. So cool your influence is such that you now have artists interviewing with you.
H. Thorpe says they went more for the sensual side rather than the intellectual... but then gives us a grand theory behind it all! Must be mental sensuality.
Andrew Lincoln?! :O Why didn't you ask the man about The Walking Dead? Hahah! This interview is really great! Awesome questions! Informative answers! Overall, Great!
God, Anthony, sometimes you get to be so hipster on your choices. I always though that you were coming from a more solid background with styles as hardcore, punk, hip hop, etc, overmore, I was so sight to see that you were able to review albums that weren't actually of your own preferencess kind. But rating bands like this, this sort of I-only-do-it-with-the-mac-book-but still could have done it very easily with an analogical pad and a few guitars and keyboards... Honestly, this shit ain't ambitious, it ain't original and it ain't enough for someone who has reviewed bands as Death Grips...
Although I really like both Wild Beasts and Death Grips, I am wondering why you'd criticise Anthony on this choice being 'too hipster' when I can't think of many bands that are more 'hipster' than Death Grips. As for Wild Beasts, listen to their music, rather than the interview. I wasn't totally in love with their last album, but Two Dancers was really good.
You got to interview Hayden Thorpe? Nice!
An interview w/Wild Beasts’ Hayden Thorpe: Interview w/Wild Beasts' Hayden Thorpe
I bet Danny Brown would agree to an interview ahead of his next release?
I was lucky enough to see Wild Beasts play Gebaude 9 in Cologne last weekend. Show was totally intense with a selection of old and new
