I will say if you get the chance watch the original video to this song and the quasi scandal about that video. I think they sound even more amazing on that one, but this is my second favorite

They hated when they had to lipsync on TOTP. Get Dave to react to their Roll With It TOTP performance, where they switched roles in protest- see how long it takes him to realise what's going on. 😅It's also funny to see Noel's Liam impression and viceversa.
This was used by ITV in a montage when England got booted out of the 2002 World Cup. I'm sure Noel's bank account was happy with that 🙂 Great reaction - as per usual.

I've seen them sing this live a few times, great memories. I agree it's their best song post 2000.
Most bands didn’t sing live on TOTP but oasis insisted on doing this one live which when you hear the studio version, you’ll know it’s live.

Definitely one of their best songs. It was the soundtrack of a movie called “The butterfly effect”.

Finally! Thank you!! This is one of the best live version of any Oasis song ever. When both Liam and Noel harmonizes here in the chorus, its perfect.
By the way, in the 90s, Top of the Pops used to lip sync. But in the 2000s, and especially in 2002, they stopped doing it because Noel did not like the lip sync process of Top of the Pops. And you can see it because in the official version of Stop Crying Your Heart Out, you can barely hear Noel harmonizing in the chorus. Here you can hear Noel's vocals loud and clear

I first heard this song live before it was actually released at an ITV live recording to promote the album. As soon as I heard it, I knew it was going to be a massive hit. The Hindu Times version on that recording is really good also. It's the CD:UK or sometimes known as the Waterloo Studios recordings.

I'm surprised Dave didn't pick up on the pronunciation of all the words that had an "S" sang. You can clearly hear the hiss of the S on Liams microphone which isn't there in studio recordings. Apart from that it really is hard to tell the difference from the studio but listen to the S words. It's a real tell.
This could have been filmed shortly after Liam had his front teeth knocked out in Germany and he was still getting used to his new teeth. I could be wrong tho and it was just defect from the mic set-up but there was a short time when he struggled with S pronounction because of his new teeth. I think it was around this time.
I wonder if Dave was just focusing on the instruments? Mostly that's the first thing he listens for but who knows when Liam is thrown into the mix. He really loves Liam's style.
My favourite live performance from Heathen Chemistry tour is at Finsbury Park. There's a live version of Little By Little really good.
Ahh Yes I knew this would pop up I got excited seeing this before i hit play as i knew dave's reaction was going to be good :) ....Little Back story for you ....Yes it's live Yes It's amazing.....my go 2 version ....The band were asked to perform Live as it was a special to also showcase the new material of Heathen Chemistry....Ironicly this is also Alan Whites Favourite Oasis tune off that album at that time when asked......The other interesting thing about this special is they stuffed the sound mix up and other songs just sound terrible and Noel said later he would never do that show again live as he was upset with the results..
if you seen what was in their ears ,due to ,to keep in sinc and when they are singing , if it states they were live on totps which is very rare for bands to be live .
But i do believe that in the 70s it had changed to lip syinc ,which is disturbing to me ,if your voice has been trained , the problem about singers are if they smoke and take a lot of alcohol they can lose their voice or it starts croaking .
So practiceing your chords are inportant on a daily basis .
No i am not a singer but i do watch many famous singers who explain the situation drinking alcohol and smoke causes problems.
But you can see they have been practicing and that is very inportant .

Alot of bands lipsynced on top of the pops, including oasis in the early years . As time went on though oasis refused to mime or lipsync. This performance was very much 100% live.
Can't beat the songs where both are singing. The contrast is perfect every time.

the cello / mellotron piano and noel's guitar are out of tune
Dave says he didn't notice that, but he did notice the tremolo.
So many memories seeing Oasis and singing this and Little By Little with my dad who is no longer with us. Hopefully both on the setlist when I see them at Wembley next summer.
