You'd be surprised how many slams are won off mistakes by winners. Maybe not surprised, but I was lol. Serena didn't win her first slam off a winner I think until Australia 2007.

Sharapova is 6’2” & I believe she was not the best mover, but she was going to fight to hit the ball…I believe she had the most accurate forehand/backhand considering her high risk tennis. She was consistently in semis in all four surfaces.

Not to crap on Sharapova, because it wasn't her doing, but for all the talk about her greatness, as of 2018 she still has less slams in her career (5) than Serena had at the time of their W Final (6).
Well 5 Slams is pretty great. Only 9 players in the open era have won more Slams.
Sharapova is considered great as she is one of only 10 women in the Open Era who has achieved the Career Grand Slam (AO, RG, W, US). Sharapova and Serena are the only players in the 21st century to complete that achievement, the last being Steffi Graf. Actually let's not even compare Serena to Sharapova or to anybody else, because that woman is on her way to being the GOAT. But let's not diminish Sharapova's record book worthy achievement either.
