Jungle boot has three benefits: mud release sole, quick drying, and spike proof sole. If you don’t need those, you don’t need the boots. Their problem is lack of ankle support. Saw lots of guys with twisted ankles wearing them. Wore them for about ten years in the army.
When he said "SOURCED" I knew right away they were gonna be Chinese knock-offs LOL, nah...I can still find a good pair at the flea market every now and then.
If it doesn’t have the original insole it’s not going to do its job as effectively. If it lacks the steel plate it will not resist the 300 plus pounds the boot takes to puncture the steel. In short it’s a copy and pales in comparison to the OG boot cause they can’t make the OG jungle boot correctly
The originals were the best, I got out in 88, had two pairs, one pair brand spanking new and actually two sizes to big for me at the time, I got them for a friend. Other set was my newish barracks and post boots in Panama so they never saw the field. I wore this pair through two marriages, boating, hiking, gardening, working, river kayaking and hunting. Never shined them and only dyed them once. The right boot as usual on jungles clicked when you walked because the steel plate broke inside the sole hahaha, a common issue with the old boots. I sold them because I finally out t grew them on eBay to a Vietnam reenactor for an amazing $50. Had those for 30 years. Faded frayed and the leather turned brown in places . Second pair I got my friend who never picked them up sat in a boot box in my closets til few years ago I broke them out and oiled them up, shined them up and used them in parades with 82nd abn assn James etherton Detroit. Kick ass boots boys, don't know bout the new ones but if you can get several years outta them then they might be ok. But not the original!
@@highfructosedreamsyou never know what an enemy is prepared to do. After watching our guys getting issued gym shoe style combat boots I thought of punji stakes. Good boot. Just wore it afiled for the first time and the laces kept untieing. I wrapped them around and did a second know samething. Will try another way of tieing. The boots worked great though. The hunt included full irrigation ditches and tall grass . . .they wore well. Just had to stop every 30+ minutes to tie them up.
I also want to know about comfort, drainage and quick drying, load-bearing and shock absorption, and antibacterial (the jungle is humid and hot) These two types of military boots are not available in my country and I can only order them online overseas. I can only learn about the quality of military boots on UA-cam.
Damn, I've been looking for a good pair of these, but nobody makes 'em anymore, least of all in my size. Is there any chance y'all would consider manufacturing them in a larger size, ever? Would definitely nab a pair then.
Gotta ask, what material is the footbed made of? You guys sell the black version too so does it have the same footbed as the greens? I know the originals had footbeds made out of leather, is this some plastic material in your new ones?
Why are there so many reports of Belleville boots falling apart within weeks to only a few months? Is this just your competitors trying to harm your company? Are there quality control issues and are issues being fixed? I really want to buy at least two pairs of your boots for $200 dollars a piece but am a bit worried by what I've read recently. If I buy boots from Amazon and they fall a apart under normal use, will you guys honor the warranty? Ive heard Amazon is full of Chinese knock offs as well. Do you guys do anything to combat this? Thanks.
Thanks for the comment, we are not certain where these reports / reviews are coming from but we have not heard anything like that. All of our boots come with a one year warranty and if there is an issue we will replace them. You can shop direct on our website www.bellevilleboot.com or we do have an official Amazon store and it is very safe to purchase genuine boots from either.

China, but they seem to be good quality. Just got mine last week. Hopefully they'll last longer than the Rothcos I had. The Rothcos lasted about 6 months of regular use on hard surfaces. If these last about the same then they're not worth the extra $75 for another Chinese made jungle boot.

Sounds like Bellville is buying Chinese Rothcos and slapping a 120 dollar markup on em. Or worse they’re rebranding Cambodian made Altamas. I’ve got a pair of 1966 vintage jungle boots. I’ll stack them up against any copy made today ( except maybe the McCreas )

Ugh. Everything today gives me tremors of sticker shock. $132 is a totally fair price but man I remember buying these in Berkeley in 1990 for $15. Surplus, of course. But still.
