I worked for 25 yrs in the airline industry. Did a lot of traveling. I learned how to pack from my stewardess friends. I stopped using heavy vinyl or hard-sided suitcases and switched to a duffel bag that was about 3 feet long and fully packed would fit in the overhead bin. Underwear was grouped by category in extra-large zip lock bags. Slacks, wrap skirts, tank tops, swimwear, had their own bag too. I had 2-3 dresses and a few other items. 1 pair of good quality tennis shoes that I wore on the flight, a pair of stacked heels, 2 pairs of flats, and flip-flops. Travel size toiletries, hair stuff, and makeup in separate bags. When the duffel was packed starting from the bottom going up, the items would compress and I'd start the trip with the bag being about half full. It was filled to the top with old and new purchases on my return. I never had to worry about checking my bag. If that bag didn't make the fight, then neither would I. Never lost a bag, never missed a flight, did plenty of shopping and all my purchases make it home with me! I use similar style backpacks too. Love your fashion looks. TFS - be blessed!
I have one too! Right! I love mine , I have love to shop and keep my carry on with me.. zip lock bag are handy to have when traveling.. I keep them too.
i love your channel Angela. i am 66yrs old not a petite frame as yourself but your content is so very universal . Your content speaks to all women regardless of size, shape, color, age, marital status, societal status or education. I greatly appreciate that. these are stressful times were it seems like we have no control of our lives regardless of how well we adjust. The one thing for sure is that you've helped us as women stay leveled and focused on what we do have control of and that is our femininity infused with class. Thank you again
I’m a few months shy of 68 years old. I describe myself as a woman of traditional build (that being an African American curvy woman). In my last job, my much younger co-workers at the clinic, complimented me for being jazzy. Now that I have retired, I miss the daily fashion critiques and compliments. Now during the pandemic, my public interaction is limited to trips to the grocery store. I make an effort to look my best including lipstick and lashes. I had to really practice with the lash application. Lashes really brighten your face. In my area a salon will apply them for $10 if you bring your own lashes; $15 if they supply and apply the lashes. The beauty supply stores sell them for $1.99 and up. Just don’t buy the thick, heavy lashes. You’ll look like Bambi or a stripper.
Love your style! I am a flight attendant and I see so many passengers who no longer care what they look like when they travel. You are proof that one can be comfortable and stylish at the same time! Thank you for sharing this video, and for the great suggestions! You ROCK!!!
Yes. I wish people would dress comfortably and stylishly for travel instead of looking sloppy. It is totally possible to show respect for yourself and others while maintaining comfort.
Yes in airport the hair bonnets just crazy right now and short short with hams out I wear my hair up in a tie wrap hoping that it will give the young ladies a feel of hmm I can do that next time and look like a o Princess or a Queen Thanks for Sharing Blessings 💜
I remember your very first video and how relatable you were - you haven't changed, so down to earth, supportive and inclusive. Your growth is inspiring - continue to do what you do! I enjoy the fashion content as well as the real life content/guidance that you bring to women - thank you and keep up the good work.
That Ecco slip on shoes is a must have. I’m a nurse, I wore them at work, I have bunions, walk around my 12 hour shift and I NEVER had any pain at all. Before I got that shoes, after work, my whole lower extremity is painful, from my groin down to my feet.
That outfit is so lovely! Although jumpsuits are so hard to go to the restroom in. Total germophobe here! I also hate having to take shoes off in the airport. I always wear a thin no show sock over my regular socks and walk through security when I have to remove my shoes, and then take the no show sock off and put it in a ziploc that I put in my personal bag or pocket before putting my shoes back on. Thanks for all the tips!
I promise that Angela is my travel twin! I put things in ziplock bags and clear plastic bags as well. We carry mostly all the same essentials when traveling. 😇
Commenting on the sock tip, the trash bags, the gloves and the hot liquid tips! I am a minimal packer as well as I only do carry on luggage. It makes for a nice quick escape on arrival.
And please tell everyone… that all adults need to travel with tissue and a PEN! When going through customs almost Jon one had a pen of their own to fill out the forms. Excellent video. Beautiful jumpsuit and great airport options! Thanks👌🏾
Excellent video Angela! I already carry or pack the way you do but I learned a few tips here for my next trip. I have a 7 year old son who always travels with us so my packing is definitely different but your tips were gold. Thank you 🙏
I love watching you. I have truly learned a lot of tips from you. I finally purchased some cute sneakers to go with a few of my dresses. I would NEVER wear sneakers. Cute and comfortable is the way to go as we get older. Thank you for all your hard work!!!!!
I first want to say that I love your jumpsuit! My husband is from West Africa and I can't get enough of the colors and techniques used in certain peices. As usual this video was so helpful. I am like you with the wipes and scarf. I will now incorporate the ziploc bags and those backpacks...genius! 💕
Thank you for the travel tips and advice! I’ll be incorporating the collapsible bags, socks in the ziplock and the almost-water wipes into my carry on. I also hate having to take my shoes off at TSA. 🤢I learned a while ago to always carry a pashmina and it has been invaluable on my travels. I’ve used it to warm up, as an accessory, and even as a pillow for my baby boy😄. Love that you mentioned Monroe Steele, she is a style icon to me, love her work. Thanks for this vid, very enjoyable and I learned a lot ❤️
You got me on pocket and Cape Town South Africa! First timer east African sister here! I love your contacts , especially the dressing tips. Women’s are beautiful and we just need to wear for our shape and comfort and style, we all be looking stunning. I hope as many as ladies here in the US take your helpful information and appreciate it. ❤️
One of your videos popped up in my feed and I have been binge-watching your videos since. It’s such a breath of fresh air to see a channel for women in my age group (and any age group) that is relatable. And I LOVE that you post links to purchase the great items you share! Keep doing your thing, Queen!
I have some similar Ecco shoes. Got them at Nordstrom Rack for about $50. I wasn’t sure which color to get, and easy returns so I got all 3 colors to choose later, and kept them all. They were a bit snug so the Nordstrom shoe guy said to take out the innersoles, because they have 2, which I now keep in my Blondo boots.
I travel often as well. Thank you for sharing. I’m actually traveling on Thursday. I learned the HARD way to travel light. When I went to Asia, we had to purchase two extra suitcases for all the things I purchased. Yes having a one of those compact travel bags are great. And because we are a bit older we carry a lot over the counter drugs.. peptobismal, Imodium, advil, Benadryl, Claritin, stuff like that.
I love how you're giving all your tips and Production is just sitting back listening to all your secrets.🤣 But seriously, these are really great tips and I'm glad to learn these things from you before I take my family of 6 out to AZ next spring break and get caught unprepared.
If you have any sewists amongst your viewers, they can make that cute jumpsuit you’re wearing! Just gotta get some African fabric, but I bet something similar can be purchased online.
If you live in a large city or just any city and you know any Nigerians or Ghanaians, if you ask them if they have a seamstress, I’m telling you, you will get some leads. I live in Texas and there is A LOT of them especially in Dallas and Houston.
Yes loving the outfits and I pack the same way I even have home and away personal products so I keep those packed all year around and I don't let my products get old I will pull em out and use them then replace. It's so convenient and after a few trips I had to learn how to pack and not bring all my clothes and shoes. Thanks for sharing
And that would include long car trips. I recently traveled from Chicago to Detroit, about 300 miles. By the time I arrived home my ankles were swollen to twice the normal size. In addition to the compression socks, eat fruit or carrot sticks instead of salty snacks. The salt will make the swelling worse.
Went with family to LA for a few days, I appreciate our same packing thoughts, from head to toe, traveling again soon, so I really appreciate your imput, thanks for Sharing 👍✈😊
Wow couldn't be more pleased this video popped on my feed. So many great tips including "turning the socks inside out after wearing thru security". What a great idea. Your entire presentation is perfect and delightful.
That romper dress!!! Gorgeous! I love it when an outfit is a perfect 10! I try to fill my closet with only 10's. If I don't feel like twirling in it, I don't buy it. Also, I have the Ecco slides and they are going on four years old and still look great and are very comfortable. Pay the extra for them... Worth the extra pennies!
When that phone rung, I was afraid production would be fired 😢. Glad u kept him. Also. My hubby must watch this, I'm a germaphobe too. My purse has the wipes, spray, socks, wet towel... It was like watching myself. Great video, love the romper, tfs. Hi production 😊
Angela, inner I would love you as my sister, you and are have a lots in common, the way you think and the things you do,my sister don't change.Thank you for making me laugh. Lots of blessing to you and you family.
What more could I ask for? The body to go with it!😂😆 Definitely get Global Entry /TSA Pre-Check it’s worth the fee for dedicated lines and most airports don’t require removal of shoes.
Just found your channel today. Loved this video and the banter between you guys :) I also appreciate a beautiful classy woman who also loves to hike and wear chacos! A woman after my own heart
Angela, my 1st time here, exactly what I need tips on how to travel lightly, I plan to do so after all this Covid and enjoy what’s left of the good LIFE. Thx for these ideas.💕👍👍👌😍🦋🦋🦋🙏🏽
Angela you are giving me life girl… You are Fabulous so glad that I’ve found you video I’m fairly new to your channel… I’m 51 year of age had been struggling with my wardrobe the do’s and don’t.. I believe in dressing age appropriate with a little flare and style, keeping it cute.you do all of that. The Steven Madden cow skin heals… yessssss! THANK YOU!!!
Loved this video and it came JUST in time!!! Im going on a girls trip in 9 days so i definitely added some of your must-haves to my list!!! Thanks so much and i absolutely love your channel
I always enjoy the way you deliver your content. Thanks for sharing what you carry when you travel. I really loved the African outfit, I wish I could find one like that for myself. Keep sharing, its truly appreciated.
I really like your presentation, with great tips! I'll be flying this week for the first time since 2010. I'll be using many of your suggestions for our travel.
Hey Angela! This video is pefect. I have some upcoming trips. I always pack minimal and l chose a color palette so that l can mix and match. You look so regal in your romper. I have a few custom African pieces that l had made in "little Africa" when l was in Paris a few years ago. I have a few similar pairs of those slip ons by Steve Madden and Cole Haan and they are so comfy. The face mask and wet wipes are awesome tips. I love that jean jacket. Maxi dresses are a must when traveling. Cute and comfy is my go to travel wear.
I'm with you on the scarf!! I take one everywhere. They're versatile and come in very handy! Been lurking for a while, but decided to come out of hiding to say I LOVE your channel! You and Production are too cute!
Wow! I truly do this! My family be laughing at me! (The young ones that is) 😁. I feel it's better safe than sorry! Peace and Blessings to you and your family! 🙏🏾
Very nice! Also in the carry on put things that you can't do without in case your luggage gets lost. I always put toothbrush/toothpaste, any prescribed medications or vitamin supplements and a couple healthy snacks! Safe travels to you!

The top puff is stealing the show. The South African jumpsuit is stunning.

@@ifym5455 thanks for the tip. I’m in the DFW and need to find a seamstress/tailor that can make something similar.
