What's Up, Joey? Prints and Paisley

I’m not generally one of those guys who tells you, “Oh, you have to wear this or that because it’s the IN thing.” That’s never been my style.
But when it comes to style, it is interesting to see the cyclical pattern of “Everything Old is New Again.”
In this case, don’t go throwing out any of those old prints, because they may be getting their time in the spotlight again.
“I see prints everywhere,” says Jackie Zumba, owner of Jackie Z Style Co., a clothing and accessories store in the Mall at University Town Center. “I see them in handbags. I see them on jewelry. I see them in men’s shirts and in suiting. I see prints staying for a long while here, into fall as well.”
One specific print is making its way into home furnishings, and that is the paisley.
“It’s interesting because paisley has such a rich history,” says Stephanie Schurr of Pottery Barn. “It’s ancient. It’s one of the first prints. It was originally made with blocks, which is really fascinating.”
Pottery Barn has debuted a new line of paisley patterns that are slightly reimagined.
Speaking of paisley, the good old fashioned bandanna is enjoying a comeback. Female celebs are tying their hair back with this fashion relic from the ‘60s and ‘70s. And considering that headscarves of all kinds made appearances on fashion runways earlier this month, it looks like they’re here to stay. At least for now.
