Also important because the earlier mahabharat though is truly excellent in all aspects but now it feels quite slow as per the times. Mahabharat could be the ultimate cinematic experience that Indian cinema can put forward. Please do not take it like Adhipurush and mess it up. Something similar to the Hollywood movie 300 should be ideal(the way the movie is picturised, war sequences were somewhat realistic). There should be solid philosophy behind the movie. For instance, the actual war itself was based on set and fair rules(fighting should not start before sunrise and must not go beyond sunset, multiple warriors must not attack a single warrior etc). But at one instance, the god himself(sree Krishna) has asked Arjuna to violate the fair rules. The movie can be based on an explanation to this. There can be a second part to the movie as well. That could be based on the post-war scenarios(the ascend of pandavas to heaven etc). The philosophy behind the second part could be, did war bring any justice to the cause of war itself.Can war bring peace, or is it the other way around. My suggestions for the main characters. Yudhistira- Prabhas Bheema- Great Khali(I know that his acting skills could be limited, but if the director can make him act well, his stature could bring another dimension to the movie) Arjuna- Ranveer Kapur. Sree Krishna- Aamir Khan. Karna- Prithviraj Sukumaran. Bheeshma- Amitabh bechan or Sanjay Dhatt.
Have to say India need movie large and epic like Ben Hur depth and great story like Lord of the rings like for drama and story which can last till the end of the universe everything should be perfect. And it's different need a directors with combination of Rajmouli, Prashant Neel, Anurag kashyap, mani Ratnam, Vishal Bharadwaj who makes things epic and make great characters, great story world blinding making best heroes and create best drama great writers to make great scripts. Trilogy 5 movie series who knows. But India need such movie for next gen.

Mahabharata and Ramayan are rich in content, we can make thousands of relevant films. Example Kalyug!
