- This song is titled "you're never fully dressed without a smile" performed by Amir Talai. He is set to be the new voice actor of Alastor in the upcoming series Hazbin Hotel, releasing this January 2024 (early access release in late 2023). This video is purely for promotional purposes to display the actor's singing voice, to show what Alastor's musical performances may sound like in Hazbin Hotel.

I understand why a lot of people are upset about the recasting (which couldn’t really be avoided with the whole voice actors guild rule or something like that) but Stolas got recast after the Helluva Boss pilot and we all grew to love his new voice, so I’m sure it’ll be the same here. I can’t wait to hear more of Amir in the new year.

Difference is...Stolas was barely in the pilot. It's more like Millie's voice change and, honestly, I still haven't gotten over it. It doesn't feel right at all. Plus, the change there was rather quick overall, while we've had almost 4 years to obsess and rewatch the pilot episode of Hazbin Hotel and grow attached to the original voices, especially the ones that were big players like Alastor, Angel, and Charlie.

His voice definitely fits Alastor and I'm sure this VA will do very well, but I'm still going to miss his original voice. It was just perfect I can't explain why.
Edit: after watching the first 4 episodes I have to say I haven't changed my mind, his new voice is good and gives him a bit of a sassier side (which is fun) but fails to sound as sinister as the original in my opinion.
(Don’t worry I feel the same way. The old VA was just perfect and I have no idea why.)
It's because Edward Bosco had the charming charisma, but also the underlying malice with every line. Amir sounds fine, but he sounds like "generic radio host" rather than the nuance of Ed's performance. We'll see though.

This is a really impressive cast honestly, all broadway stars, most of them having previous experience in voiceover work. I don’t know what kinda strings they pulled to get such big names but it should be great

He sounds incredible and I’m sure he’ll do fantastic, but Edward Bosco WAS Alastor. He’s the only one out of the original VAs I’m genuinely upset is gone. Amir Talai will have some major shoes to fill, but so far so good.

Also, some of the original cast was replaced because some of them had a problematic social media presence, etc.

I love Alastor is one of my favourite characters 😃🌹❤️ Angel and Alastor! I would have loved so much they had kept the original voice actors u.u but I will recognize this new ones are great too.

Alastor in the Pilot had both a singing and speaking voice. It makes much more practical sense to have 2 in one. Plus... this guy's from Broadway FFS. I think they just need to tune up the vario voice and it'l be perfect. That's an easy fix.

No hate to this guy, I know he's just doing a job. But his voice for Alastor is just a generic radio host. Bosco had a voice that truly brought this character to life. Maybe this guy will be able to flex more when the show comes out, I don't know. I certainly hope so, but so far this just makes me wish that the project stayed independent like Helluva Boss.
It isn’t a generic radio host and Bosco’s voice was based on Amir’s performance which is why Ed’s voice sounds so similar to this. His range is extremely fucking wide
