As an American, my favorite song since I first heard it way back when I was a little kid is the Kinks- Father Christmas. That’s the greatest Christmas song ever
Regarding TV specials, I feel like it's really dropped off in America in the last 20 years. Growing up in the 80's/90's, it wasn't just "Grey's Anatomy, featuring a guy who looks like Santa having a colonoscopy!" To this day, one of my favorite Christmas things is the Garfield Christmas special. Magical. I hope you both had a wonderful Christmas!
I’ve been to a friend’s house for thanksgiving (twice, many years ago), who makes a “Tur-duck-en” every year. A chicken, inside a duck, inside a turkey; with stuffings in between. He even goes so far as to debone each bird by hand and stuff them all together reshaping them. It makes for what looks like a roasted turkey, that you can cut all the way through at any point, and have all three birds with different stuffings and no bones. It’s the most extreme thanksgiving bird(s) I’ve ever seen as an American lol. I was blown away, and would’ve been even more so if I liked duck lol. For Christmas in America there’s many thing you’ll see, depending on the family and region (separately lol); I’ve personally seen turkey, ham, tamales, various roasted beef cuts, and even homemade lasagna, as the Christmas dinner main course. My holiday experience has mostly been around the west coast areas.
This year I was unfortunately in the hospital right up until Christmas Day and was limited on what I was allowed to eat so our family did Christmas Tacos this year because it had some soft options I could work with. It was different but lovely and we all enjoyed having something out of the ordinary for a Christmas dinner.
I live in western NY and we have huge snow storms at Christmas. One year we had to have Christmas the next day because i had to plow everybody out. Broke my kids hearts.
Saw a home that was full blown with lights and music. House next door had just white lights made to look like an arrow pointing at neighbor and the words DITTO.
Lawrence is just wrong about the weather one. In the US we have a wide variety of weather and you have the option of vacationing or seeing family in other parts of the country sometimes. In the UK, there's a lot of consistency in weather and you have what you have. Of course, I admit the US winters can be brutal in some places at some times (like Buffalo last Christmas) but this isn't typical. Usually the most brutal stuff hits in January or later.
☠️🤘OBD🤘☠️..... 🇺🇸🏴.... Marry Christmas🤘you gotta draw the line somewhere, think matching PJ's is that line. Bing Cosby- White Christmas is the ultimate Christmas song though
Ash & Dave! I recently found your channel as I have just become the biggest Jinjer fan ever, maybe 2nd by the way Ash smiles at Tati. You guys watched 3 of their big videos, but I think you missed 3 that are huge, and based off of Ash's love for Tati, I would recommend "Who is gonna be the One", "Pit of Conciousness", and last but not least "Call me a Symbol". Thats definitely the heaviest. If you react to these, I literally can't wait. Thanks for making smile watching your reactions!
We have great tasting turkeys here in the states. Angelina Jordan has recorded Driving Home for Christmas so we now have that in America. Food: Massive amounts. My step mon used to make just about everything you can think of and bakery goods that you couldn't possible finish in 2 months!
@@johnzubil2875 Father Christmas by The Kinks, Driving Home For Christmas by Chris Rea, It's Gonna Be A Cold Cold Christmas Without You by Dana, Last Christmas by Wham, Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin Stevens, and many more. You do realize that not all classic American Christmas songs are played in other countries, right? Just because a classic British song isn't played in America doesn't mean it's not a classic. The UK has just as many if not more classics as America.
@@Sandman60077Im very honest and I will always admit when the UK does something better but music is not one of them, Christmas or not. All your artist were also inspired by African Americans.
As far as Christmas music for me, or any music. I don't care where it comes from. Just so long as I like it!!! So which country has the best songs, I don't care. 🎅🤶🧑🎄
Depends on your age i.e. generation...as far as music goes. Prime rib or ham is the usual in my area for dinner turkey is most popular for Thanksgiving (due to tradition.) it may depend on your family's heritage for what you eat. As for movies the cartoons or clay action were the best...I might be aging myself! lol Merry Christmas!
You guys should probably watch Killers of the Flower Moon. Its about what happened to my people here in the U.S. My people's history is always glanced over when it comes to talking about the U.S.
Eskimos or Inuits have loads of words for snow If the snow is dry. It will be powdery It can also be icy (sleet) It can also be wet. Moisture content will vary. And also what can be done in it Powdery is awful for snowmen Powdery is awesome for snow angels. Powdery good for skiing sledding or tubing Wet is only good for snow forts and snow ball fights. Wet is good
Laurence might ham it up a bit but from this Americans pov its more “Laurence hamming it up” rather than “a British person hamming it up” if that makes sense
Turkey is a low fat meat, so it you want the breast to be moist and flavorful you must cook it at low temperature for a long time. If you cook it fast, it will be dry. America is a vast country so there are a lot of choices in weather. so I disagree with Lawrence when it comes to weather and also food. Yes, we do not always have turkey for Christmas as it is tradition for thanksgiving just one month earlier. By Christmas we have had turkey, turkey sandwiches, turkey soup and so forth so we may choose some other meat. Maybe a Christmas goose and a roast beef.
Glad you're starting to introduce her to LITP. Think she might get a kick out of the video on the coldest states. Not currently there since I'm visiting family but it's at 29(-1.6C) with a wind chilld of 23(-5) back home in Kansas right now and it's been a pretty warm winter so far with Kansas being a pretty average state weather-wise.
@@willie1027 I guess if you are an intellectually stunted untermensch you might think that sure. But context matters in a conversation or its all just random words. Try going back to English comp 1 in 1st grade, but pay attention this time. Because no one has time for snarky kids.
Yeah I stopped the video when he made any sort of comparison between American food and British food and said he didn’t like cinnamon. Like eww gross these people put flavoring and seasoning in their food lol brits come here and try chic-fil-a and think that food would be fine dining in theUK
I like lost in the pond, but his sense of humor comes off as unnatural and forced. Like he writes all the jokes beforehand instead of doing it naturally. And it's pretty much the same jokes that he does in every video.
22:57 We must not forget "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"

The "best" Christmas is my Christmas. Holiday traditions are unique to families and areas...and that's what makes them so special.

In America you can get any type of weather for Christmas you just have to travel.
Chicago is known as the Windy City but it’s not because of the weather, it’s the politics. I live lived in the Chicago suburbs all my life. 66 years.
Here in Nashville we have people who are hired to light these houses. They bring in an designer and off season landscapers . Lots of money

Turkey. Way to go is a slow cooker turkey breast. Some onion soup mix. And shred it into sandwiches. With slice of canned cranberry sauce.

You should try turkey that’s been slow cooked on a smoker.
It is the best!
Saw Zulu in New York City when it was first released in movie theaters.
Great movie 👍
Merry Christmas ❤🎁🎄
Merry Christmas Dave & Ash, and happy Boxing Day
Everyone in the U S has turkey for thanksgiving which is a month before Christmas so I don’t know to many that have turkey for Christmas
I wish we observed Boxing Day in the states. Although I’d still probably have to go to work. My shift starts at 4am tomorrow😭
"Violent Night" - You two need to react to it!
Merry Christmas from Ohio.

I'll put Miracle on 34th Street (Maureen O'Hara, John Payne and Natalie Wood version) up against any Christmas film. ❤
Have to go with Britain on the Christmas battle if only because you have Boxing Day. So basically 2 days of Christmas vs 1 in the US.
Blow torching chicken wings that's hilarious ... Do they taste like butane?
Check out the Christmas movie. Violent Night.
Is British bacon like Canadian bacon, (ham)? How could anyone think that that is better than American bacon? And who doesn't like cinnamon?
British bacon is super thick bacon that (in my opinion) is waaay undercooked.
Usually get new pajamas before xmas so we can wear xmas eve. Ours do not match, personally i just can't with that 😜
I say 50/50 and I'm from the US
Zulu is South African
You guys are sooo cute 🎉
His pick of Uk food over US has to be a joke.

I love it. "Youre not supposed to talk politics or religion " Kinda hard to avoid on CHRISTmas. lolol. A lot of us remember the reason for the season.
Change in the tilt of earths axis is the reason for the season.
