These episodes are very very informative. Thank you!
Wafting. Most important part of film making, for sure.
What else could be more important than wafting? Camera quality? Audio? Lighting? No way, wafting's where it's at.
Beautifully done. I’ve been in the industry for decades and still love watching your solutions. I will say that in LA we call those decelerators as they are used to slow the fall to a manageable landing. A descender is a simple lowering device. Take care!
One of the best Film Riot episodes I've ever watched
I rarely write comments but this time I can't help it: This is the exact thing I want to see and even expect from a channel like Film Riot.
I've been following you guys from the beginning (is it really more than 5 years?) and around the time when you moved into your new office I was feeling that you guys couldn't put all the hard work into your episodes (as you said many times).
I'm glad to see that you even break the boundaries every week with every action scene you release. Informative, well edited and inspiring to the least.
Thank you.
I don't care if I'll never be able to do this. This episode is absolutely amazing. Awesome job film riot!
Another awesome short! Really loved the action and falls. BUT THAT TRAILER THOUGH! I would back that kick-starter project in a heartbeat!
Love this action series you're doing. Thanks so much for sharing! Nice camera work Ryan!
This is what I learned from this video: Wafting
Amazing episode, I really love the action month and this was just astonishing, very well done!
Awesome videos, been watching since Tell and all of your work keeps getting better, keep up the great work!
Keep up the good work, guys. Super informative as I work on my own stuff
This looks like a really good contest with great prizes. Definitely going to work on this.
Beautifully done.
This channel should have so many more subscribers
I love the haze/fog wofting gag lol
God I love you guys! You inspire me so much! Thank you!!
Your bye shots are amazing
If you were living in Québec in Canada, your work would definitively be used and feature in tv shows and movies! The quality it is so great! Good job!
Yes! I needed this for my Quicksilver film which is hilarious, perfect timing!
it feels weird josh is not doing the acting. Great job guys!
Lesson learned - must have time for wafting!
cant wait till next weeks
Wafting is extremely important. Don't underestimate it.
i liked the old intro more but you are one of the best youtubers. thank you becouse i want to start a short film channal and you help me a lot (sry bad english im german)
great work
Great location! I used to go to church there!
thanks Rye Bread...
awesome work
Amazing video very inspiring
Film Riot has raised the bar yet again. It'd be cool to see one of these featuring the entire Connolly Clan + Bruno, Todd, Tim, and Arris! "Jack Jackerson RETURNS." No, how about, "Jack Jackerson: JACKED."
Just killing it lately :)
You just love that Haze, don't ya? :D
You people are incredibly awesome...!!
Waiting for a Hollywood era, ruled by Film Riot crew.. :)
amazing 1
There is a little beat of Rocket Wars in your Sci-Fi trailer Ryan ;-) spotted !
lol the fricking wafting.
Hey Ryan , pls do a separate tutorial on how did u light this scene . thanks
You made those movies?! ... Cool I love this :D
I've got that T-Shirt !!! ... Okay I'll continue watching the video now :)
can you do video on how to shoot the never ending falling scene in "get out"
YES!!!
wow !!! XD Niiiiiiiiiiiiicccccce ;)
thinking about doing this for my grandchildren!
Did you give Sean Mullen the raw edit or did he work on the already color graded version? I've always wondered. Thanks!!!!!!!!
Exited about next week then!
Guess what day it is? Wafting Day (Circus music kicks in)
That was a nice scene and nice acting overall. I like this action month. What other Film Riot specials are in store for the future?
Can't wait for my pony
For the film challenge: can we create are own works, or do we have to use film supply and music bed?
lol i laughed so hard every time you said wafting :D
I always think that the explosion in the action month intro is a tree haha
nice short btf ;D
Please how are the stunt mats removed in post mostly the black ones ? Any link for me to watch the tutorials please
another great episode guys. The inspire shot in this one is a little weak and not as smooth as it's capable of. Also, could you have corrected the rolling shutter in post?
I really hope that some day I'm half as talented as you...
I just watched the trailer for "Invasion" you have to make it Ryan
What is the name of such kind of a vest with a wire attached on it ? =]
Nice
Hey Ry, look great, but when people hang from wires i think it is clear to see that they are supported by the hips, is this a safety essue, that they can't hang in there arms and just have slag safety ?
Jannik from Denmark
What do you call those mattreses that are used for stunt falls?
When I got the email for that filmsupply thing, I was so exited!! Then to find out the next day that I had to be 18...
I'm sure you get asked this a lot but what camera/cameras do you use, and what editing software do you use to edit?! :)
Hi guys Where can I buy a stunt descender and for how much? thank you
so much wafting xD
I read the title as filming stunt fails haha that could have been interesting...
How much it would be to film one scene of falling, roughly? If you could give me an estimate. I'm an experimental documentary filmmaker so I've never tried anything like this. Thanks for the video!
The question is, when can we see a full feature?
Come on Ryan.
I don't really get the film supply challenge. Can someone explain it?
I HAVE THAT SHIRT!
Go Penultimate! And the final weekis up next!
+filmriot how did you get the audio for the trailer?
does the contest have to be all footage from the site?
Hey what does Seth Worley have to do with each of these action scenes?
How to remove the falling mat from the Sean
Hello sir,
I want to know that can we apply for internship in Film Riot? If yes, then how can we apply?
Thank You
did you use one lens to shoot the entire thing - long shots, medium and even close ups? I am asking because you said when u rigged the ronin u didn't have to put the camera down . thanks **
We used Canon Cinema primes so changing lenses could be done without putting the camera down or readjusting anything.
I was browsing for how to fall to the ground from a punch (without getting hurt), not falling from high
Was someone pulling focus for you?
But i don't have the budget for a stunt team :( how to do?
Who got the knowledge guy for the ad?😂😆
Do you like Tarantino films, if so what's your favourite?
I have Ryan's shirt!!!!!
luv u
HI Film Riot I am filmmaker We wanna buy like this wire rig please please may u tell us where we can buy please give me a link or AMazon link please waiting and thanks in advance
Not so much a "how to film stunt falls" as a "how they film stunt falls".. still awesome info!
Hello Ryan! I have a really bad standard definition camera and I have no lights and when I try to storyboard and write a script I get bored with in the first 2 minuets, I was wondering if there was any tips you could give me about getting a good idea and getting a location and a good low budget camera. For maybe under $500. I live in Britain so it is harder to find the things you do on your show. Also I have no money to spend on the scene. Any tips, thanks :)
I noticed that on the clapboard a cameraman was called josh knepper
in danish knepper mean "humping or procreating or having sex"
Hey Ryan, who was paying for all these videos? I'm just curious, was it from a Triune Films budget? Or did DJI do a full collaboration and assist with the budget? How did that work?
where to buy them? from India
The Ronin-assist thing you called an "XO"? What is it and where can I see specs, please. Easyrigs are pretty expensive.
It's an Exo, as in Exoskeleton. Will cost you a fair bit more than an Easyrig.
Yes an Exo. They are extremely expensive. I just bought a 'ready rig'. In my opinion the ready rig is designed a bit better (smaller so you can easily run through doorways and even sit down with it on in cars, etc.) Still expensive but much much cheaper than the Exo.
Should i just give up on Intercept, or....?
I actually thought about joinging the contest yesterday (got a mail about it), but then i realised i need to be 18. It made me deåressed :( Like, shouldn't that be written really clear, so i don't need to download the rules to find ot?
How do they do that in cobra kai falling on to a metal raining and falling on to stairs. That was no dummy!
wofting
Was gonna do the Filmsupply challenge, but don't have any editing software. One day...
hitfilm 3 express is a professional but free editing software! (hope i could help! :D)
Filming stunt falls, except no one else can do this😐
GridBuilder I meant you could do it without the equipment that holds on to the stunt actors (crane / hitch ).
But your actors might not survive.
You mean you didnt really shoot someone and let the body drop over the rail? Doodz! What up!? :LoL. I guess thats what the 2 thumbs down were about. Excellent stunts and filming! bravo!
anyone else think the last scene could be intercept???
rawr xD
Haze is key! These videos are incredibly inspiring!
Hey... Corridor Digital is here :DD You guys are so AWESOME too :) I have been following you for years now.
I want a collaboration with Film Riot :D
Yes omg!
Major Key 🔑
NO WAY!!!!!!
