- I’m so happy that we took our kids to Dakshina Chitra in ECR road, Chennai. They have preserved 150 years of our culture. This heritage museum contains many houses from 4 southern states. Those house are reconstructed using the materials from the old houses. It’s a life size museum where you can learn about our lifestyle in the olden days. It was a wonderful learning experience for our kids and for us too :-)
We also visited Label J boutique. They have lovely collection of customised party wear for the whole family.

Suddenly,i recollect my college days NSS,NCC Camps memories in a village.
Actually they dont have toilet in every home.வயல் வெளி, வாய்கால்,காடு open toilet they used😉😅which is very new to us and got some memories😅😁😁

Only thing I maintain during travel is to eat lot of fruits and drink plenty of water, that takes care of hair and skin

The big jars u pointed on kerala house is called as cheena bharani..... Its imported olden days frm china as it got that name.... Its mostly used for pickling for large quantity because of joint families
And about toilet facilities u can find one in one of a kerala house there in dakshinchitra..... But its one exception other than that we indians thought that lavatories are not to be attached to houses... It was a taboo

Thanks for bringing back my old memories, I have visited twice or thrice I think, but more than once I am sure in 2004 and 2005 after my college , I am craze about this place.. I always thinks to take my kids there but time doesn't support me since I am staying in Dubai and kids are in Chennai.
