First. Great video. I have 3 of those cards including Greninja. When the last half of S&V sets get released like the Dragon Set, The Team Rocket returns, along with possible megas the value of Greninja will decrease. Let's see how the pull rates and rarity along with the art looks on those cards in those sets. Great video
I hate to say it but I don’t think you’re gonna be exited as you think you are about some of those sets . Even Pokemon 151 nostalgic as it is still hasn’t beat out the Greninja . Pokemon can do those cards right if they choose but those cards can also fetch 125 and be good cards and still not out beat the Greninja . I think if any of those sets they do like shrouded fable it’s gonna be a fail . The dragon set was strange looking to me and could have done different art . But that’s just my opinion when it comes to a dragon set
During a bear market, these are going to come down quite a bit because it'll be a buyer's market. I missed out early on because I just didn't know why they were going up. But now I'm waiting for an actual crash. These prices are way too high for the pops IMHO.
Supply and demand, as more enter the hobby, the higher the ceiling goes. But with new sets, people become interested in other things. But we may or may not be seeing the beginning of a large growth phase for pokemon. Things could easily double in the price, but just as easily half. Don’t bet on the future unless you have a crystal ball, just buy what you want at a price that is reasonable to you and sometimes you just have to accept missing out. There will always be another dope card. I really want that magikarp and Greninja tho, but at this point I’m out priced. If they come down, I’ll buy, if not, I’ll accept defeat without sepoku.
Keep in mind, theres more collectors and buyers too, which creates higher pop reports. Paradoxically, if a whole market expands, rare cards might be more bountifully printed yes, but also compared to the demand, more scarce since the audience for these cards is still bigger than their print amount. Both aren't moving at an equal ratio. Alsp, ppl can open whole booster cases and usually still not get every card in a set, which is wild. About half of all Pokemon cards ever printed have been since 2020... thats their attempt at trying to meet the demand, but comparatively, the rare cards are even harder to pull than years past.
I completely agree, trying to flip singles and what not is such a sensitive game and these cards with all the rage right now are just off the charts. I wonder how new cards with hype like the ones in stellar crown or the Cassiopeia will do in the next months to come Love this kinda content, keep up the great work!
Totally agree but having the luxury for now to just hold onto some great cards and artwork is worth it for me. You never know what the future holds regarding their value but for now I am just going to enjoy their beauty if i see them all. Still haven't pulled the majority of them anyway 😂@@drmonstervibes
I think when it comes to the greninja people who don’t like it…. Honestly aren’t big fans of art, it’s literally like one of those abstract, loud, busy paintings that people pay thousands for lol. It is an artistic take and I appreciate it. As for the price, I mean I guess it’s pretty hard to pull bc twilight masquerade is hard to get hits 😰😅

I think the prices for Magikarp, Lugia V and Geratina vstar are decent right now. You might have to wait a bit more to make a profit but it's more than certain these prices will go up again

I think the Greninja you have to see it in person to really appreciate it. I bought just after release because I collect Greninja so I'm not bothered about short term ups and downs and I can honestly say it is a beautiful card.
Moonbreon holding its value at around $800 is in the same situation to the US dollar. Enough people agree it’s worth that even though there’s no shortage of them even in perfect condition. I remember when burning shadows Chariazard GX secret rare PSA 10 was going for 900 with a pop report of 400.
I think the UPC is the best bet, lad. It becomes more sought after for collectors when they become harder to find. Especially cause of the 3 promo cards in it. Not to mention the 16 booster packs in it 😎
I think the Luigia V Alt is fairly priced. This is the one card of the set that people want, legendary pokemon and outsanding art. You can pull it maybe in one box out of 25 something, so being priced at 6-8 boxes price is rather fair in my opinion.
The very good SAR don't fall for quite some time (1-3 year) though it is hard to tell on the longer term. ALL other SAR are way cheaper !already one year after release. Greninja is definitely part of the later ones.
Sellers for the greninja are being messaged to not drop their prices, so there’s definitely some funny business happening with the greninja & I can’t wait to buy it in the future once it dies down a bit
I agree with avoiding the cards you highlighted. Only thing that would make sense to me is selling them while the price is high if you accidentally pulled one, but obviously the chances of that are quite low. Same principle applies to the new SIR cards of new sets. The Shrouded Fable SIRs are on their way down, can't believe that people were paying $130 for some of those at one point. Same will probably happen with the SIRs from the upcoming Stellar Crown. I take more of an opportunist approach. If I pull the card casually, I'll sell it while it's hot. Otherwise, for investing purposes, I get ETBs and BBs. Great video, keep up the good work.

People also started ripping a lot of their sealed product since Umbreon was worth so much a few months ago and they aren’t going to be reprinting Evo skies. Call it what you want but it’s a grail card.
12,000 copies is only for PSA 10. This doesn't include lower grades or other grading companies or the amount of copies out in the open market that are raw. Umbreon is hard to pull, but it isn't scarce.
The Japanese version was 4 sets ago and the English version was just last set and is already at half the amount of 10’s graded. I think there will be a lower Japanese pop, and the Japanese version has the same gem rate. Would be funny if the prices flip.
What really annoys me about moonbreon is how people's defense to the pop report observation/facts is that they'll say something stupid like "pokemon has X million fans and 20,000 is just X percent" like nah your point is stupid because not everyone wants or cares for that card, I personally think it's a terrible buy and you can get a much nicer card for less money (the mcdonalds umbreon, or maybe even a low grade/raw gold star umbreon).......or just buy it cheaper in chinese.
I traded a like new switch OLED that I had bought for 220, for a raw Greninja EX, when it was worth around 230. I don't know if I should sell now or keep holding.
Sell now if you want an extra 50 bucks or hold and grade if you want a decent valuable card that could keep going up. I have a few cards that I’ve had the same problem wondering if to just get rid of it before it drops but they just keep going up, for instance the groudon from paradox rift it’s like top 3 card in the set now, when I was gonna get rid of it it was worth like $5 or something 😭 it’s really up to you at the end of the day there’s no real “right” thing to do. Personally I wanna keep my collection for awhile tho, gonna be hard for me to sell for barely any profit

With AI and auto price tools you do not need to check the market, it is not time intensive. Put your minimum and ceiling range in the tool and it will revise your eBay listing automatically based on last 7 days sales.
After the first 60 to 90 days of a new set it starts to not be worth buying the chase single for the set unless you are holding for the long run. If you want to get the single for the short 2-3 month flip or to grade and take the risk of not hitting a 10 and increase profit more, then the best time to buy the single is after the 1st week of release. Do not buy right at realease. Wait a week or two and the value will drop 30-50%. That is the best time to buy to maximize short term single profit. What about 6 months and the card will sell 2-3x what you paid.
I am not like A flipper. I have fun. Now I buy now and don't spend to much incase of a reprint. Greninja right now I stay away from hype. I'll visit later
There aren’t any clean copies of vintage. Card will be LP and they will try to sell it to you for NM. Even local shop will have damaged cards and have it labeled MP.
The only scenario where these are good buys is if you are 90% sure it is a PSA 10 and you intend to get it graded and it actually does come back a ten. Otherwise, stay away.
I disagree. The ninja is the moon of scarlet and violet. At 3 months both cards were 550 in a 10. You can’t keep saying it’ll drop when it won’t. It’s the anomaly.
The greninja ex is so much harder to pull than the moonbreon vmax...just look at the pop count of moonbreon vmax now....12.6k psa 10....this card is serverely overpriced and not that hard to pull.. I have breaker friends that opened 18 cases of Twm and only pulled 2 greninja ex, and another 6 cases and only 1 copy of it....the price is hot for a reason...The umbreon vmax is now moving to 7xx price state and i believe it will go further down to the 500s market range
I decided to avoid greninja as soon as i saw it. It's 100% gonna drop. Even the best and most popular pokemon dropped and Greninja is popular only because of 3DS era and Smash games.
I’m confused on why people think saving the boxes nowadays is gunna make the price go up overtime. If you really think about it, yeah the base set and a few others sell for but there is 100x more people saving boxes now. So why do you think the boxes will be worth so much more overtime when so many more people have them available? I don’t think any modern boxes will ever be more than maybe 2x the original price down the road. In 5 years a 151 trainer box might be 150 a box, and a 151 booster box might be 200-300 dollars. So in 10 years I want a 151 booster box and millions of people have them sitting in their storage why do you think it’ll still be worth a ton of money? Also, is it really worth waiting years to make 150-200 bucks off of it. I think people are stuck in a fairytale land type deal where they think saving trainer and booster boxes is gunna make them rich one day. These modern boxes will never be worth as much as a base set or anything. It just sounds like a total waste of time. People best bet is to find a mint silver tempest Lugia, mint gengar Vmax and just sit in them for years rather than saving the boxes in my opinion.
While there are more people holding, there are also way more people in the hobby. Sets like chilling reign, which were regarded as awful at the time of release, have doubled in price over the past 2-3 years. Really hard to match that on the stock market. It’s risky, but so is any investment that has upside

Fusion Strike has already doubled and it hasn't even been out for 5 years. More people open boxes than people who hold them, that is just the reality of the situation. this is business fundamentals. more packs will be opened everyday meaning there will always be more cards, this means the scarcity of packs always goes up, and the price will also go up no matter what (as long as people enjoy pokemon cards)
So you just mentioned every single high value chase card of the last 2 Eras. While I agree with your point on flipping and chasing coupons, the list you presented was like basic collector knowledge 101 with no added value. Not trying to sound petty here, just an observation.
Not defending the unbreon with this comment. Ill just say 12 thousand copies is NOT a lot. Theres 8 billion people in the world. Theres prolly MILLIONS of poke collectors out there that still dont have their moonbreon.
12k copies is a useful metric when comparing it to other cards, in which it is very high. You shouldn't be comparing it to the population of earth or the number of collectors who are missing the card. You have to think about its market value within the context of a stock, not in comparison to the earth/collector population. 12k is only the PSA 10 population, there are many more copies that are raw, not yet opened, other PSA grades, and graded by other companies that are not captured by that number. Even though many people may want it, the vast majority of them are not willing to pay these high prices for this card; if they were, the price would be trending up due to buying pressure, not down. The relatively high card population indicates there's a much higher potential for significant selling pressure which may become increasingly likely with an impending recession. It would not take anywhere near a total sell off to totally trash the price. The point is that the market cap is clearly very high, suggesting that the card is overvalued and you can already see the price trending downwards due to selling pressure being higher than buying pressure.
@brandongunn7992 moonbreon sells online all day every day. Check anytime and you'll see people bidding. For the crazy high prices you say people aren't willing to pay.

Even if you buy the greninja at 250 which you can get it for right now . This card is gonna triple in price if not double anyway . And if it’s a graded card I think it’s gonna hit for a lot of money later down the road .

There aren’t any clean copies of vintage. Card will be LP and they will try to sell it to you for NM. Even local shop will have damaged cards and have it labeled MP.
Evolving cries was highly printed but the Moon Kitty And Ray Ray Vmax were also highly STOLEN from the printing factory
The only scenario where these are good buys is if you are 90% sure it is a PSA 10 and you intend to get it graded and it actually does come back a ten.
Otherwise, stay away.

I disagree. The ninja is the moon of scarlet and violet. At 3 months both cards were 550 in a 10. You can’t keep saying it’ll drop when it won’t. It’s the anomaly.

The greninja ex is so much harder to pull than the moonbreon vmax...just look at the pop count of moonbreon vmax now....12.6k psa 10....this card is serverely overpriced and not that hard to pull.. I have breaker friends that opened 18 cases of Twm and only pulled 2 greninja ex, and another 6 cases and only 1 copy of it....the price is hot for a reason...The umbreon vmax is now moving to 7xx price state and i believe it will go further down to the 500s market range

I decided to avoid greninja as soon as i saw it. It's 100% gonna drop. Even the best and most popular pokemon dropped and Greninja is popular only because of 3DS era and Smash games.

It amazes me which cards get popular as all but the Magicarp , in my opinion, are not good lookin cards.
I’m confused on why people think saving the boxes nowadays is gunna make the price go up overtime. If you really think about it, yeah the base set and a few others sell for but there is 100x more people saving boxes now. So why do you think the boxes will be worth so much more overtime when so many more people have them available? I don’t think any modern boxes will ever be more than maybe 2x the original price down the road. In 5 years a 151 trainer box might be 150 a box, and a 151 booster box might be 200-300 dollars. So in 10 years I want a 151 booster box and millions of people have them sitting in their storage why do you think it’ll still be worth a ton of money? Also, is it really worth waiting years to make 150-200 bucks off of it. I think people are stuck in a fairytale land type deal where they think saving trainer and booster boxes is gunna make them rich one day. These modern boxes will never be worth as much as a base set or anything. It just sounds like a total waste of time. People best bet is to find a mint silver tempest Lugia, mint gengar Vmax and just sit in them for years rather than saving the boxes in my opinion.
While there are more people holding, there are also way more people in the hobby. Sets like chilling reign, which were regarded as awful at the time of release, have doubled in price over the past 2-3 years. Really hard to match that on the stock market. It’s risky, but so is any investment that has upside

Fusion Strike has already doubled and it hasn't even been out for 5 years. More people open boxes than people who hold them, that is just the reality of the situation. this is business fundamentals. more packs will be opened everyday meaning there will always be more cards, this means the scarcity of packs always goes up, and the price will also go up no matter what (as long as people enjoy pokemon cards)

Not defending the unbreon with this comment. Ill just say 12 thousand copies is NOT a lot. Theres 8 billion people in the world. Theres prolly MILLIONS of poke collectors out there that still dont have their moonbreon.
12k copies is a useful metric when comparing it to other cards, in which it is very high. You shouldn't be comparing it to the population of earth or the number of collectors who are missing the card. You have to think about its market value within the context of a stock, not in comparison to the earth/collector population. 12k is only the PSA 10 population, there are many more copies that are raw, not yet opened, other PSA grades, and graded by other companies that are not captured by that number. Even though many people may want it, the vast majority of them are not willing to pay these high prices for this card; if they were, the price would be trending up due to buying pressure, not down. The relatively high card population indicates there's a much higher potential for significant selling pressure which may become increasingly likely with an impending recession. It would not take anywhere near a total sell off to totally trash the price. The point is that the market cap is clearly very high, suggesting that the card is overvalued and you can already see the price trending downwards due to selling pressure being higher than buying pressure.
@brandongunn7992 moonbreon sells online all day every day. Check anytime and you'll see people bidding. For the crazy high prices you say people aren't willing to pay.
