    So what’s the highest note that tracks stable? Really want to use this as a month synth!

      Thanks for the question, I knew I was forgetting something: it varies a little by configuration, but they all lose stability between C6 (~1050Hz) and C7 (~2100Hz) when tuned to the max. Very usable for most applications. And I misspoke, when they max out at the high tuning, the oscillators stick at a very flat C7 rather than cutting out.

    Love this. Been hoping someone would do a deep dive on the Dual VCO. Still struggling to get sounds I love out of it, and this really should help. Would love a bread and butter tutorial

      For bread and butter, I'm struggling to get a simple bass that cuts through without either having too much buzz or too much resonance. Currently, not a fan of the filters on the analog machines, wondering if i just haven't really found the sweet spot

      @@robbiep742 Just saw this, and have to say the just-released SY RAW machine makes ordinary synth sounds way, way easier to dial in-for basses on that one, the phase reset (with the the dot on OSC 1, the second group of waves) makes a big difference and sounds better. I think SY RAW is in general a big step up from SY DVCO.

    You can get some really creamy/buttery (sub) bass sounds out of this machine, love it!

    Thank you for visualizing this!
    That’s a lot better than imagining how the shapes work like I’ve been doing😅

    I always learn something from these video drops, even if it’s sorta off hand. Short and sweet and generally things not yet covered, and that makes them well worth waiting for. Thanks.

    Super useful tutorial! Thanks for helping me find a PWM approximation with the analog oscillators. The pseudo noise oscillator using random pitch modulation was really clever too. 👌

      Thanks! I got the pseudo noise thing from one of the presets and find it useful for lots of things (for subtler noise and transients, too).

    cool video! love this little box, the new update gives me hope they'll continue making new machines for it

    Yes! my favorite machine, great tutorial!

      Thanks! But favorite machine? Maybe not for long! The just-released SY RAW with 2 analog square waves sounds really good to me, and I'm happy it's a lot easier to use. (The SY SWARM, too, sounds great and I think will be very versatile.)

    Those juno style pads are amazing do you have a tutorial on the full sound?

    • @humanprogram

      Thanks! I think it’s just sawtooth waves, tuned to intervals to make chords from multiple tracks (e.g., detuning by 5ths, +7, lets A and C played on two tracks make an Am7, A + E and C+G). For the rest, it’s just sawtooth with plateau-shaped filter envelope. The LP4 and low shelf filters both sound good with it.

      Lol I never went back and watched the hoover part, yes, that is hilarous. Yeah, the Syntakt is really fun and the newer synth models (swarm and raw) improved on it a lot.

    thx for the vid / as you said, it's sad, I'd even say a shame that they don't provide hard (or even) soft synch. Elektron, pls make it doable !!!!!!

    Excellent video. What software do you use to draw waveforms?

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! These are the VCVrack plugins included with miRack (the iOS port of vcvrack), which happened to be the first place I thought to look at the waveforms. It’s the Submarine EO-102 oscilloscope and the BogAudio Analyzer.

    Dream request Elektron : in addition to hard synch, pls make FM through zero in a future update ?

    Do you have any idea why the saw waves in the analog machines (DVCO and RAW) have a cut in harmonics at around 10k and 20k Hz? Its not like that for saw waves in the digital machines, is that just an analog thing?

    • @humanprogram
      @humanprogram  Рік тому +1

      I'm really not sure. My guess is that it has to do with the analog filter on those tracks, but I'll take a look and report back if I find out anything interesting.
